Hi All, I have a Budgie and my house is old so the heating isn't great. He has a K&H heating panel but he hasn't found it yet. Do you know of any heat lamps? Heaters that turn off at a certain temperature? Anything you all use. Thanks so much!

You can purchase a heat mat? They usually sit under reptile cages etc but of course you can place them under bird cage too

I’d recommend a heat lamp rather than a mat, since that is what was recommended to me by the vet. Heat mat apparently can be a bit tricky; a heat lamp can be put at one end of the cage giving the bird(s) the option of being in under the heat or moving out away. If you do use a mat, definitely get yourself a thermostat as they have been know to overheat.
If the temperature inside your house stays warm enough for you, it will be warm enough for your budgie.

definitely heat lamp. Idk where you live or how cold it is in your room, but you can go to a hardware equivalent to home depot and pick up a 60 watt - 250 watt bulb and lamp to point at the cage like hezz said. They have red bulbs there designed for chickens so they don't lose sleep at night, but if you wanna go to a pet store or even amazon will have a reptile bulb that only emits heat from the bulb at the same watts as the normal heat bulb. Just make sure you get the right wattage amp for the bubl you get to not start a fire. good luck and take care

My home doesn't have any heating, so I'm using an oil filled heater with a built in thermostat. I put it in the corner on the far end of the room and pinned a sheet a safe distance away so I have the option of turning it off and covering the area when I have Frankie out. (Even still, I'm pretty conscious of how hot it is when I pull the sheet to take him out.) It usually keeps it at a comfortable ~70+ on the middle/low setting for a room that's under 200 square feet.
