One is a Cobalt Normal and the other appears to be a Dark Green Single Factor Spangle Single Factor Dominant Pied.

Is Bluey a Clearflight pied budgie? I've always thought that he is.

Is Bluey a Clearflight pied budgie? I've always thought that he is. Does he have a white patch on the back of his head that we cannot see in the photo? His wings have been clipped. Was he ever fully flighted while you've had him and were his flight feathers white? If 'yes' to either or both of these questions then, yes, he's a Cobalt Clearflight Pied.

yes, he does have a pied patch at the back of his head that is not seen in the photo. Then your assumption was correct--Cobalt Clearflight Pied.

I think Bluey is Mauve Clearflight pied, the colour is not as light as cobalt blue.

I think Bluey is Mauve Clearflight pied, the colour is not as light as cobalt blue. Could be. Was the photo taken with flash? If in natural light he looks more grey than blue to your eye then he''s a mauve. But if not, he's a cobalt. Also, how old is he? Many mauves tend to be bluer before the first moult.
There's a range of shade for each of the three blues, from pale to deep. But mauves are seldom as blue as pictured unless the photo is influenced by flash or some other lighting influence, or he's very young. Normally confusion and debate occurs over dark sky vs light cobalt. But in Bluey's case, it's dark cobalt vs light mauve.

None of the photos were taken with flash. I think he is 3.5 months old.
