Good idea about the water dishes! I have mine up high (but not higher than the highest perch or they might try to sleep on it), and food down below in the center of the cage(s), which I design so perches are only at the sides and the center remains clear of droppings. I move their food around a lot too, to try and get them to forage a bit. So far they only seem to catch on when I bring new food in and set it down. If I put food all around and they settle in one area to eat, they seem to forget about the other dishes and call out to me instead when they get hungry again. So then I have to pick up the other dishes and shake them a bit so they see them again, and they’ll fly to a new dish xD Maybe I’m spoiling them, but it is pretty cute! Hang in there mona! Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly. 🥰

The vet said everything looks good. I was also able to apply virgin organic coconut oil to their cere and feet (without grabbing them, thank God!). The vet said if coconut oil is not applied to Cookie's cere, it might crack, so asked me to apply it twice a week for few weeks.. I think Cookie froze for a while looking at the ear bud (kept it stable at one place), but later she liked it and let me apply it while blinking her eyes and turning her cere as if to ask to apply there too.
He also asked me to remove their food and water dishes 2 hours before travel and give them some papaya juice.. when we start traveling, can keep the food back there. He asked me to call him for anything during the journey. He said birdies can stay in the same room or floor in separate cages at my mom's place and once I'm back at my new place, he asked me to get deworming done for the birdies. He had asked me if that had been done anytime earlier. I told him not, as per my knowledge..
They are in their travel cage.. and very angry with me for being in a small cage and freaked out due to the changes around! They would remain calm only when I'm sitting beside their cage or freak out otherwise! We are traveling tomorrow and I have packed/moved all items from their room, so that they aren't freaked out by movers and packers & also due to bird flu scare. Those guys will not disinfect , change clothes.. Will keep radio on in their room while the packing and moving is being done.

Sounds a thorough vet, and bases covered. Made me smile about Cookie and the coconut was it, oil. Maybe it’s like having a hand massage
Good luck with the move

Cookie got a stain again on one side.. It wasn't there yesterday.. I asked the vet.. but he said there's nothing to worry about. It seems to appear on one side since last few days on an interval of mostly 3 days..
I'm confused again. Will look into poop test, if the need be, once I reach my in laws place..

Does the papaya juice act as an anti-nausea?

So you cannot ignore it, but if the vet is ok, then I would say try not to worry, unless you obviously have other symptoms showing, such as the poop, diff behaviour, off food, fluffing etc

ffiscool There are no other symptoms since then.. Today, it's all clean and there's no stain.. it seems to appear every 3 days or so in the morning/ overnight.. I try not to freak out.. but my mind races in all directions when I see her stain.. 🤦♀️ tweetiepiesmom Thank you.. My hubby is always chilled out.. 🙈 Cookie is very aggressive during the travel today.. she just used a millet spray as her punching bag.. 🤦♀️ They settled at the cage base for a while, due to the towel under the cage liner

Misty gets the same sometimes due to his chronic sinus problem which seems to get worse when the weather is very humid. Mostly it doesn’t affect him, but if I hear him starting to snuffle I give him his sauna steams for a day or two and clean him up. Hope the travelling goes smoothly for all concerned.

Thank you everyone. We have reached my in law's home. Birdies were freaked out the first day, but adjusted on the second day. We'll be staying for a day or two and leave them at my mom's home then. They are very tired.. They are going to sleep tomorrow the entire day.. Cookie wasn't eating much during travel, but millet sprays and millet seeds helped . Also, we carried a small fresh plant pot, which was very helpful to feed them water and otherwise as treat and distraction from the journey.
