BB, the colouring on Pepper's wings is a lot lighter than Smudge's. Does that mean a difference to Pepper's mutation? Here's Smudge:

Pepper was greywing as well as pied. The greywing mutation makes the wing markings and the body colour lighter

Thank you, Nev. I though Pepper may have been something like that but I am not clued up on the mutations. So she would be described as a Greywing recessive pied sky blue?

Nev is probably right here. These Greywings and Clearwings are very tricky. Mine also have very light markings but I am sure that mine are not Greywing.

Hey BB, yours are very like Pepper. I thought you bred show budgies, though? Do they get "fluffier" as they mature? I guess so Sekhmet, waiting on confirmation of that.

Hey BB, yours are very like Pepper. I know their parents. They don't have Greywing in them

I thought you bred show budgies, though? Do they get "fluffier" as they mature? I breed all three types. Pet budgies, which are small and not fluffy at any age. Show budgies, which are big and fluffy as soon as they are feathered. Mix budgies, where cock is show and hen is pet. They are of medium size and not much fluffy.
