OH has started reading to them in the evenings. He mainly reads at Munchy, because Munchy at least pretends to listen. I missed snapping a shot of them when Indie and Yuki were sat quietly close to Munchy but Yuki nodding off was adorable.

We've rearranged the room, which OH said meant that he can now read to them from the bed.

it must be a soothing voice, probably could be anything said softly - although who knows... maybe they like a good book, lol

He's reading them video game lore, ffiscool, so I think it is just anything.

That is so sweet! When I read a book out loud they just tried to be louder than me still! (i.e. they just twittered along per their usual, but I think they may have enjoyed that I was twittering with them for once). They were all out of cage in the middle of the day though, so maybe evening reading would be better

They were with him a little, and certainly with me in the mornings! I think they appreciate us joining in the noise making.
Every time OH stopped reading, Munchy would say "Come on!", which was hilarious.

I just love that he still does even being with other budgies.

At first you had to have your head really close to him because he used to speak really quietly, like he was testing the words before being brave enough to say them. His first phrases were "Pretty boy" and "Where's Zoe?".

It's fascinating me that Munchy is still talking now you have the other two Ira. Bailey stopped talking quite soon after moving in with the gang here. He chatted away to us while he was doing a bit of quarantine and had quite a few words an phrases but as soon as he moved in with the others it stopped, which is what i was expecting really but a shame none the less. Does Munchy say as much as he used to or is it getting less?

skysmum When he came home he made only bird sounds for a few days and then gradually started talking more. He sticks mainly to his main phrases but mainly just goes into long chatter mode when he's settled. He doesn't tend to talk at the other two. He might not pick up anything new off of us, although he does still come to the side of the cage closest to me at times, so he might do. I might have to test it. Edit: He did tell me "No!" about a month back when I'd just told him off twice.

That is interesting, since Bailey has been with just two others, instead of six, which is much quieter, he has started to come to me more and gets right up close to my mouth to listen to me talking to him, he really seems to concentrate on what im saying especially when i say the things he used to say, i opened the blinds the other day an said "Oooh it's a grey day today" he came running over to listen as that was something he used to say. I will have to work on it and see what happens, i still have the list from Fran of things he used to say.

Awww bless him, Iโm sure he does remember. It was his first phrase. I reckon youโll get him talking again. It must be a buried in him comfort thing. When my niece was pregnant the first time, every night sheโd sing Rule The World. When Maya was born and until probably she was 1, they sung it to her. She always stopped to listen
