Hi there, recently got 2 baby budgies from pet store about a month ago. Wondered if anyone could help with the gender / age - we called the yellow budgie Rosie & the white budgie Jax. Thanks in advance!

Rosie does look like a boy in that photo, but a straight-on photo would be better. If those rings around the nostrils are just paler pink than the rest of the cere, or even powder blue, then definite boy. If they are white though, then it would be a female. But leaning towards boy from what I can see.
Jax may actually be a hen. Again, if those rings around the nostrils are white and the rest of the cere is powder blue, then it is a hen. If those rings are actually pale blue though, and the rest of the cere is a darker blue, then it is a male.
As far as age, Rosie has the beginnings of irises forming and no head bars at the front of his(?) forehead (though with his mutation they would have been hard to see from the start I believe) so I am thinking somewhere around six to eight months old. My two boys who are seven and eight month approximately now look just like Rosie - just finished molting their forehead feathers and have about the same shade of iris rings - assuming the photo is true to reality because lighting plays a big role, and some birds develop pale irises a bit faster or slower than others.
Jax does not have iris rings at all so either she(?) is a dark eyes clear (which will not develop light irises) and age cannot be determined reliably (you can look at a budgies feet if experienced and if they are plumper you can tell they are still fairly young, or if they are skinny and they are older, but no real estimates can be made) or she is a double factor spangle that is four months old or less. The eyes look black to me, so not an albino, unless that is just due to lighting or my screen.

I think Rosie is a boy, Jax a hen.

I agree Hezz. I think Rosie is a boy, Jax a hen.
