@sillycat84 I love hearing about your flock and how Pippin is settling in. I'm glad it is going well. Do keep us posted!
It will be good to hear how Pippin's personality comes out over the weeks.

He's tried egg and sweetcorn today and has foraged through grated carrot for seeds. He even ventured to the floor and cage tops. You know how there's Sif and the Warriors Three? I have Munchy and the Budgies Three. These three are much more cohesive and getting along well. I try not to laugh too much when Indie and Pippin start bickering but it is very funny. Munchy meanwhile is happily doing his own thing. Pippin's coming closer to hands for millet if at least one of the others is there. I think with time we'll be able to teach him that we're not scary. He's calmed down loads already.

As was reported to me before he moved in, Pippin does indeed enjoy bathing.

Look at that brave little guy sitting on your hand, even if you did bribe him with millet! They seem to be a "flock" now. I love the hanging playgym you've put together for them.

We usually bribe all of them, though Indie and Yuki will now usually step up on command with the expectation of millet rather than because they've seen it. OH managed to take him out of the cage and bring him around to the bed. They are. Pippin's taken a lot of Indie's energy off of Munchy, because Pippin will move over to Yuki and thus get chased away, whereas in Munchy's case it would be Yuki instigating an interaction and Indie chasing Munchy away... (in those cases I also feel bad for Yuki, because he doesn't get the chat he wanted) But yes, Munchy still enjoys his alone time but can be found hanging out with all of them. Last night they had all settled on one perch in the cage. Pippin's well and truly made himself a home with them. And thanks! I figured that I may as well use the attic door for something. They seem to enjoy it.

So lovely that they are all settling well together, the more you have the easier it gets, just saying Munchie us so like Bailey, as and when and on his terms

skysmum Very much so. He has always known his own mind. Just tonight he decided that I wpuld need to catch him to return him to the cage, cheeky blighter! That it may be, but I'm finding 4 a comfortable maximum for now. That said, if these terrors are all still with us, then we should have 5 by this time next year and we'll need to set up a second cage again.

I'm glad they are all getting along. It's lovely to see a budgie finding it's confidence with others around. We saw that with Randolph Carter when he moved in to the same room with Dexter. I just read the whole thread and te photos and videos are all lovely. Are they living in one cage now?

criswell That they are. Munchy will occasionally protest going back in but he's like that with his own cage. For the most part the others leave him be so he's alright. His droppings haven't gotten worse overnight than when he was by himself so he doesn't seem stressed by the company.

Pippin is gradually jumping up from further away, though bribes must be visible and easily reached from the finger. He is less certain about the hand moving to take him out of the cage but we just keep trying until we make it out through the door. I've also suddenly realised that he no longer makes the frantic meeping noises when he flies, so I think he's gotten more fit. Meanwhile... I think the apocalypse must be coming... I had half covered the cage and found them like this when I went to put the front of the cover down. They never sit on one perch. Usually when they are then fully covered they decide that they don't actually want to sleep where they've been dozing for the last hour and will start fluttering around madly in the dark... But there wasn't a sound beyond the odd small chirp and the scratching of a head. And the next morning they were all still there... Definitely something up...

I am now thoroughly established as the food provider. Pippin gives me the stares and the whistles when he's hungry, and also I think whistles when he wants to be out of the cage.
He was the first to my hand for millet today and even demonstrated his death grip when I was trying to teach him to wait. He leaned right down from my finger to reach the millet in my other hand. He even waited on an empty hand for a long time to see if millet would appear. Alas I was carrying too much to fetch any.
He's coming on leaps and bounds. If anything, Munchy's the hardest to handle because he's so strong-willed. The others pretty much go with the flow.

It sounds like it's going so well @sillycat84. I've got to say Yuki is just so floofy in that pic I know you said that he was well endowed in the underfluffy department but I've never seen him so fluffed up. He's even got what I call his 'bedtime blanket' down over his toes
