Hi all, I recently got a really young budgie and I'm handfeeding it right now. I suspect she's female. She was really interactive with me before, but now she always closes her eyes or turns her back to me when she's around me as if avoiding any interaction or conversation with me. She doesn't seem very happy around me anymore and only wants to spend all her time looking out of the window and calling to the wild birds outside (though none have responded yet). Is she going to lose her tameness at this point? I'm still handfeeding her and I don't think she's scared of me, just no longer interested in interacting with me. Is there anything I can do to get closer to her again? Would appreciate your input on this!

Mine have nothing to do with me when out of cage (though mine are untamed, but eat food and play ball games with my hand, only inside the cage).
They had been spending a lot of time playing by the window, talking to garden birds and garden birdies talking back to them..

All birds grow up and separate from their parents eventually, so she is probably just exploring her new world. Just keep interacting with her anyway, and if the birds outside are too distracting close the curtains for the time that you want to spend one on time with her.
