I think this is a boy.. Excited to see what the experts say! Like tweetiepiesmom, I too like the 'guess the gender' game!

I'm unsure. Some photos make the cere look light blue with white nares which would mean hen, but some look a darker blue meaning boy.

This guy is gorgeous!! He is just like Finlay. I have no idea of gender. I'd have guessed male but go by the opinions of others not me!
Age wise I can definitely see little head bars right up to the cere so i'd say a young bird pre first moult.

It looks like more people replied to this, so I will too. ariella I think boy and I think he's older than 4 months, 5-6 months. I'm basing that on the condition of his cere because it looks like its starting to slough off. A baby's cere is smooth. Just a guess - what do you think Marianne Marlow and Hezz - any validity to that? He's a beautiful color, love that bluish grey and long cheek feathers with dots!

Can still see the budgies baby bars, so I don't think he/she'll be as old as 5-6 months.

The baby bars made me think this bird was fairly young still and I love the colour too. Anyone else able to determine gender? Is it Hezz who is the main ‘expert’ at determining gender? If so I guess I have to wait a bit longer until she’s out of bed? I’m hoping to confirm to the breeder the boys I’d like and collect tomorrow.

From what I've read on this forum Marianne Marlow is accurate in determining gender, so in my opinion I'd go with her determination. On the light color mutations like the yellows and greys, the baby bars down to the cere are so light that I'm still having trouble deciding if they are "real". The normal greens and blues have very distinct bars.

I'd lean towards hen, but it's really hard to tell from these photos.

Marianne Marlow, thank you. Probably a stupid question but I’m sure you’re clicking on the photo as it’s so much sharper then than trying to zoom in on the ones added to my posts. I’m not sure I could get a better photo than these. I’m just clutching at straws as I like the colour and face of this one.

I'm unsure. Some photos make the cere look light blue with white nares which would mean hen, but some look a darker blue meaning boy. To me, the rings around the nares look a paler blue and not white. I wonder if anyone knows if they have to be white only to be a hen? Always so much to learn about these adorable birds. I have been studying many websites and this one was recommended to me. The top two rows are males and the bottom two rows female Ceres. in the male second column, the second from the right looks a lot like this bird with a lighter blue around the nares. Is this similar to the photo I’ve posted do you think?
