Yesterday Charlie and I went to the vet for the last time. As many of you know, Charlie was at least 15 years old and had been showing signs of decline for a while. Last week I decided it was time to get an opinion on whether we could be doing more to ease his days or to let him go. I was particularly worried about whether he was in pain and the vet thought that walking was giving him some pain. So, it felt like the right time to say goodbye, and we had a wee while with yet more long blinks in the car after the decision had been made.
Yesterday morning - as well as his usual breakfast - he had a good sprig of snow pea shoot and shared some millet with his best friend, Tony
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a good old age, love him. That doesn't make it any easier, though. I'm glad you were all able to say your goodbyes. Enjoy your sky-millet, Charlie. You will be missed. x
What a beautiful budgie he was and clearly lived a full life to a good old age. I am sure you have the most wonderful memories to cherish of his time with you. So sorry for your loss. His life was certainly one to be remembered and celebrated and I send strength and love as you navigate through this difficult time. Fly high Charlie.
