ariella That sounds great! I never gave a thought about home schooling previously. But, hearing from you, it seems way better than the education imparted in schools these days and in our days too.. 🧡 Thank you. It’s not for everyone and many people have the wrong idea that we’re all a bit ‘alternative’ but I followed a structured routine and they all did the exams they needed to proceed to college and professional qualifications. My youngest has autism and I’m his full-time carer so his education has been a little different to the others as I’ve really had to learn patience and I’ve also been tested myself as he’s so quick at mental calculations! We’re heading into his final two years now but he most probably won’t be attending college due to his sensory perception difficulties so he’ll continue to be home educated and do online courses. Our main priority is to help him be more independent as he requires constant reminders and chivvying along. At least my grey hairs have been well-earned. 😂

Thanks for the suggestion wocal. That’s a great idea and I’ll bear it in mind for the future. I have a USB chargeable nightlight which has worked well so far, but perhaps as my budgies get older and less likely to suffer night frights, I can try a sensor light.
