update: my god mother doesn't mind me mixing veggies in with the seeds. however she asks me to make sure the mixes aren't out for long because she's worried about the ants that come in the house every summer. Asked her if she's considering moving the cages to somewhere higher like a shelf or a table. She shakes her head and tells me *that's where she likes them to be*. She doesn't want them anywhere else because she's worried about the mess. I wanted to argue against that, but I took monas advice and refrained from being pushy on it. The cages aren't being moved anytime soon. Maybe you meant Hezz .. đ

This is a godsend. thank you so much. just a quick question: that would only slightly elevate it, right? and that would be an improvement?

Yes, even being slightly elevated off the floor would be an improvement especially for the cage on the bottom. Imagine being in a cage on the floor with people's feet walking by. Those blocks are about 8" tall. You can stack 2 blocks to get it up to 16" but I wouldn't stack more than 2. Before you buy them, stack them at the store to make sure you've gotten ones that are stable when stacked.

I was going to suggest, if you donât mind a little diplomatic evasion, if there is a small table that isnât really used for anything much - coffee table or taller - you could put the cages on this while you âcleaned the floorâ and âforgetâ to put them back down again. . Iâve found if things are already done that someone may be averse to, it is easier to win them around with the change already made. You can use the âletâs see how it goes, and if it doesnât work we can change it back, laterâ spiel.
