Sorry been looking through reviews trying to find some more information on that treatment to maybe help answer your question but you would really need someone who has used it and can answer from experience and even then from my own time with birds how illness/disease etc affects them all depends on the condition and health of the bird at the time, if she is going through a moult then thats another factor which could and probably will affect her recovery time. There's some really good advice/articles on here about helping your birds through a moult and general care of ailing birds hesam that I think you would benefit a lot from so maybe have a read if you have time. How is she now?

How is your hen today?
Ivermectin should treat these bugs (I’m going to call them lice) and good that you have already seen signs of dead ones on the floor of the cage. Not so good for your hen to be under the weather, though. Ivermectin can be used orally as well, so even if she has ingested some it shouldn’t hurt her, but I guess it could make her feel off colour. How was the drop applied? The ideal is to part the feathers on the back of the neck and apply the drop directly to the bird’s skin. This give less chance for the bird to preen the treatment off itself. You will need to repeat the treatment twice, in a week’s and fortnight’s time, and clean the cage, perches etc at the same time.
If she is moulting as well, add a little pot of dried eggfood, or hard boil an egg for her, mash it up and see if she is interested in this. It will need to be removed after a couple of hours though t prevent spoilage. Eggfood can be left in the cage for as long as needed. The extra protein from the egg will help her feather production and keep up her energy levels. She does appear to be a full-feathered budgie, perhaps a bit of exhibition budgie in her breeding, or is that just her being fluffed up and tired?

I think it is because I was the one who grabbed her and applied the treatment. She was singing this morning and came out of her cage. Hopefully she is on the recovery route.

She is feeling better today. I applied the drop on her neck, deep in feathers and on her skin. I was about to teach her to try vegies and other type of foods, but the treatment started. Now she lost her trust in me and my wife. My daughter is the only one who can go close to her without scaring her. she still eats food from hand, but she is so cautious. I will try to train her and convert her food in couple of days. the thins that concern me is, I do not see her drink water a lot. she has water bottle in her cage and her comfy spot is beside the water bottle. she knows there is water as I saw her drinks from it before. I hope she drinks while we are not looking. Her poo is normal and she do it regularly which can be a good sign.

Love the pictures! Don't worry about losing her trust. We've all been through that when we had sick budgies that we needed to give medicine to. I found my two budgies would take around 4 weeks after I stopped grabbing them to feed them their medicine to get back to trusting me again. I suggest you not wait for her to get better before you change her diet. Slowly start introducing her to the new food, egg or egg food being the first.

Don’t be concerned about not seeing her drink. Budgies are vulnerable to predators while drinking and for the first while it is not unusual for a budgie to not drink while you are watching. She will be drinking but will wait until you are out of the room; only then will she think it is safe to do so. And don’t worry about the loss of trust at this stage, either. That can be regained, especially as she is still on friendly terms with your daughter. So pleased that she seems much better.

She tried baked carrot and potato. She liked it yesterday, but today she didn't tried it. I mixed some seeds for her as well. But she still likes the seeds from pet store. I think I have a long journey for her diet.😅😅😅😅😅😅

A good diet is so important, but these little ones can be so stubborn. . Fresh seeding grasses are their natural native feed, so if you have access to any that is clean and free of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizer, try her with these.

I will try it, in term of trust... she does not trust us. But she wants to be with us. When she sees us she gets so excited and when she is alone, she comes near us. Her cage's door is open and she comes and goes whenever she wants. I am just worried about the infestation. Do you think the seeds which we bought from petshop can carry lice? I couldn't find any info on internet about it. Again many thanks for comment and infos. So helfull.

If you are concerned that there are bugs in the seeds, put them in the freezer. That should kill any bugs.

I don’t think the lice would have come from the food as lice need a host to exist on. More likely they were already there when you brought her home, gauging from the level of infestation. Each new batch of seed that I purchase, I put into the freezer for 48hrs. 24hrs is probably enough to be honest. . Then just let the bag reach room temp before putting into an air-tight container. The seed itself doesn’t actually freeze due to the lack of moisture content, but any eggs or larvae of any grubs or bugs will be killed off.

She is much more better and tries to connect with us. Our main problem at the moment is changing her diet to vegies. But she does not want to eat any other foods than seeds (petshop ones). She does not eat anything else. I mix her seeds with fruits or vegies... but she goes for the seeds. Do you know any method to use for changing the diet? Many thanks.
