This morning was very overcast and budgies are usually very quiet when mornings are like that. Typically at some point Buddy will call out to me to let me know he's awake. I then uncover the front of the cage and put fresh food in for them. I didn't hear a peep from Buddy so around 9am I uncovered the front of the cage. Buddy was very quiet all morning and when I opened the cage, he didn't come out like he usually does. Mid-afternoon, I saw him vomit and I got very worried. I gave him a drop of medicine that I had from Tweetie Pie's bacterial infection. He's perked up late this afternoon and has been flying around and chirping. I'm hoping he just ate something that disagreed with him. In the meantime I've decided that its time to train them to go into the hospital cage. I've started by placing a perch just outside the hospital cage door with millet. Buddy's been over to eat some of the millet. Poor little Tweetie Pie hasn't figured it out yet but he's trying. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a budgie pharmacy where we could get medicines for an upset tummy and know it would help?

Poor Buddy and poor you. It’s such a worry when they’re showing signs of being unwell. It’s like having a baby and needing to look at symptoms and treat accordingly. If only they could say how they feel… Good idea to train them to go into the hospital cage just in case. Hope Buddy shows improvement today.

Thanks for your input on my sick Lemon both of you. So glad I joined this forum! Really hope Buddy is ok! I wish they could talk and tell us what was wrong themselves then we wouldn’t suffer as much as them, poor little souls.

How's buddy doing TPM? Hope he is feeling well now...
Oh, yes if they could talk to us & let us know what's happening.
I intend to train them to go into a hospital cage too.. the weighing scale training stopped midway too after breezie went sick.

Yesterday evening he was acting more like himself and complained about being put to bed. Buddy woke up this morning his usual chirpy self. He didn't sleep on his swing and his overnight poops were ark green and sticky and wet. Maybe he ate the one bad bit of food? Tweetie Pie's poops look excellent. I'll keep an eye on him today. When I played Marianne Marlow video, he sang along with Iris.

At least he’s his usual self, so hopefully anything bad has passed through his system and today will be better for you both.

I decided that Buddy does have a problem and should be seen by a vet. He's active, playing, chirping and flying around. However, his poops are not normal. They are dark green in color and very wet. I haven't seen him vomit again but that doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't vomited because of the wet splats on the bottom of the cage. If he has vomited again it is no more than once a day. Unfortunately, the avian vets are all booked. I couldn't get an appointment with his vet until Jun 14. The other avian vet near me can't see him until June 17. I made the appointment with his normal vet for June 14. I recall Hezz (I think) had suggestions for others with symptoms similar to Buddy's so what do you all suggest I do in the meantime? Tweetie Pie is acting like his normal self and his poops are picture perfect.

Here are the pictures of my guys' overnight poops. Am I over reacting? We all get so anxious when our budgies seem "not right". They are both eating sprouts, cooked lentils and rice, egg food, raw walnut meal, cooked couscous and fresh herbs, grass and spinach. They get millet as a treat and I just started to give them about 1/2 Tbl of seeds to see if Tweetie Pie will tolerate it with his AGY. Also they are both molting now. Buddy's poop: Tweetie Pie's poop:

I'm not sure what their droppings should look like on that diet as some of that food is quite wet compared to a mostly seed diet.
Do these dropping look different to their "usual" on that diet?
My Sky's dropping were similar to Tweetie Pie's and he had AGY too.

Tweetie Pie's poop has improved since he first was very sick with the AGY and underwent treatment in Dec/Jan. Back then TP's pops were very wet, sticky/gooey with almost no white. At that time the vet said Buddy most likely had AGY (since he was eating/drinking from the same dishes and kissing Tweetie Pie) but was asymptomatic. I'm partly wondering if what I'm seeing in Buddy are symptoms of AGY.
Their poops are wetter than normal and I did attribute that to the diet.

Though I don't have any suggestions, I hope Buddy keeps healthy.. That's a long waiting list for vet appointment!
