Hi, It's my first post and I would like to kindly ask you to share your expertise. During my recent visit in my family home I noticed that birdy companion of my parents have unusual changes on a beak. I couldn't verify on my own whether it is neccesery to visit vet (I wouldn't like to stress the bird unnecesserly and also bird specialized veterinarians are not so popular around my place so it would be quite long trip for budgie.) Changes are limited only to the beak, legs are unaffected, birdy is not scratching this place, also behaves as usual - it is very interactive and 'happy' . (Photos included)

Looks like classic scaly mites.
You need to get some ivermectin 0.1%.
One dot on the back of the neck between the "shoulder blades" once a week for 3 weeks.

Just a confirmation; I agree with Marianne Marlow, on each point. Iād only add that you clean the cage thoroughly on the day that the dosing is done.

There's a bird/budgie safe tree over here which repels mites, also confirmed with vet & read online. I have added a few perches in the cage.. Just wondering if there are ones available at other places too. Definitely, it needs clean cages along with that. I have also read it also spreads from other furry pets in the house. Wondering about prevention..
