ariella so sorry to hear that.. It must be difficult getting around the house.. I hope it heals quicker ! Do you have essential oils for such things? I had bought one called gaultheria oil for my in laws and my mom.. it gives relief too.. but with birdies, you would have to stay away in another room to use it.. maybe overnight or so.. Marianne Marlow That must have been so difficult and troubling time.. glad that Eve & you are all happy and healthy now.. 🧡

I do have essential oils mona but not that one. I will do a Google search for it, thank you. I’m hobbling about slowly but slowly, slowly I get everything done. Day 10 today and new bruising is coming out around the ankle. I would put on photos but not sure people need to see the progression of a broken foot swelling and bruises. Marianne Marlow, I’d have been frightened to death to have cholestasis of pregnancy. Eve clearly didn’t want to be induced and speaking from experience, inducing is more painful, so perhaps she did you a favour. So pleased she ended up just fine though being in hospital for so many days and nights must have been horrible.

Just catching up with the posts and so glad to hear that you are starting to heal ariella. It's good that you are managing to see the funny side even through all of the pain and disruption

Thank you for checking in. I try to keep the humour up as much as possible to keep the positivity going willowsmum. I’ve been debilitated by years of severe migraines and a prolapsed disc in the past and although the foot is painful, I’m not debilitated, just much slower. I’m two weeks in now tweetiepiesmom and the healing process is going well. I’m still hobbling about but I’m walking much more easily than a week ago. There’s still quite a lot of bruising but the worst bit is going down the stairs. I have to make sure I do one step at a time with both feet and go sideways as the underneath of my foot where the break is, is still sore so if my foot gets any pressure from the edge of the stair, it’s quite painful. I’m getting up them much more quickly though. I’m not sure if my peripheral neuropathy is worsening as I had a numb foot upon waking again (but knew this time not to attempt to get up until I regained full feeling ) and I’ve had a few episodes of tingling hands and fingers, which lasts a whole day. I’m keeping notes and if I think it is the neuropathy I’ll ask my GP if I can increase the amitriptyline I take for it. Overall, I have learned that chocolate is an excellent source of healing.

Glad the healing is coming along. The older we get, the longer it takes, sigh. I had a friend tell me that when she was a kid and would go over to visit her grandma, she thought her grandma was always hurting herself because of the bruises and cuts. Then when she got in her 60's, she realized, no it was the same cuts and bruises - it just took so long to heal.
Keep taking care of yourself.

Luckily I’ve been fine with amitriptyline although I’m not sure how much more I can increase it due to my other meds, but I guess the GP can advise on that if I feel I need something more to subdue the neuropathy. Thanks for mentioning it though as it gives me other options should I need to,

Currently sat with my foot elevated, a blanket over my legs (even in the middle of summer I can feel the cold!), my fluffybum, snuggly dog beside me, little miss Pug snoring away on the floor, while I prep my threads ready for my next cross stitch project. Later on my eldest son is coming over with a takeaway to watch the rugby final between Chiefs and Harlequins with hubby and our teen son. So I’m going to take a lovely long bath with my book.
