Last night I went up to bed after turning off the TV and left my hubby reading. Charlie had been covered up for over two hours and hubby said he heard a thud and Charlie flapping about on the bottom of his cage. He lifted the cover and Charlie was clinging to the side of the cage. I came downstairs and talked quietly to Charlie for a minute and he settled on his perch and I covered him up. Charlie who is two and a half seems fine today…… Does this sound like a night fright? He hasn’t had one since being a baby.

It sounds like a night fright to me..
For mine, small yellow dim lamp at night helps.. they never had a crazy flying at night since I have added a night lamp.. Cookie does move to the food and water bowl at night to eat and drink a bit, so the night lamp helps her with that too.

Hi Mona, hubby was reading so had a small light on, and Charlie has had a night light since we got him. I am so glad we took the wire grid out of his cage when we bought it, at least he landed on soft bird chippings ………He is very spoil ( aren’t they all) and I worry !

It's scary for human and bird when they happen. Glad all was fine with Charlie, ladybird.

It sure is, but just wondering how it happens when nothing in the room can scare him?

Maybe a dream or they think they hear something.

Certainly does sound like a night fright. Sometimes I wonder if they can hear things that we can't that set them off.

In the evening I usually watch a little TV before bedtime. My two boys are covered in the corner away from the TV and lights out. Even though the sound is turned down low, the sound of gunshots, explosions, etc on the TV will sometimes startle them and set them off. So, I've learned to only watch comedy or romance once the boys are in bed!
Glad Charlie settled down after his scare.

He is such a cute baby 😍
I have seen mine being startled by insects sometimes - little ones that can fly..
