So our newly baby budgie got hand tame and learned to fly and find places to rest or sit. The problem is she likes to sit or land on the wall frame" bezels" and bite in the frames and the wallpaper.
My mother got 4 small wall frames and they are not build for a bird to play tarzan on. Each time we remove her from that place then she fly back and says protesting sounds..
She is like a magnet to these wall frames, so how do we tell her Not to sit there. We tried to show her toys to distract her but it only works for few minutes. Then the magnets inside her pulls her towards the frames again
Like cats you can spray water on ther nose but i doubt that works on budgies.
They will just start to bath.

Constantly changing what you put over them or around them to turn them into scary things will be limited only by your imagination. You also need to find ways to engage her attention elsewhere. Not easy, but persistence usually wins out in the end, or they plain just lose interest. There is no simple solution. You can try bitter apple spray on and around what you want to keep her off, but I found this worked for about two minutes!

Oh, that's tough. Mine had taken to chewing the cage bars.. i had to cover the corners with a chewing wooden toy piece to distract her into chewing them.. also added a bunch of wooden thin perches all tied up together over there to divert her.. nothing else had worked for me.. For every other solution, she would return back to cage bar chewing after a while.. she is very persistent and never forgets..
She was too adamant for a while to chew on cage bars.. she still does sometimes.. so, I end up adding some wooden branches here and there in the cage. Recently, she has developed interest and curiosity in other things inside and outside the cage, so the cage bar chewing has been less..

Has she got other places to land? We have a dowel across one corner of the room supported in the picture rails and the budgies like to sit there. It's adorned with toys, a boing and budgie entertainment. Before this was installed the little monster like to reside on the light fitting by the ceiling.
Good luck!

Yes we tryed to add toys in the cage and outside on the cage and we bought a playground. These things are also interresting to bite in, but as soon she sees that frame then she is impossible to get away unless we capture her and replace her in another room. She looses all focus on us when she climbs around this wall frame decoration object. It makes her crazy. She can sit on doors, lamp wires, couch, and table..its not a big flat we live in but enough space for 1 person and 1 budgie For now we try to cover em up with papertowels Here is the object she likes to climb on. Its not the mirror she is interrested in. Its that round decoration with no mirror she wants and she tryes to look behind it. Its like she wants to go behind it and be inside that round buble mini dome looking thing. She is looking for a way inside it.we have no clue what is going on. Maybe it looks like a nest place to her. And sorry for my bad grammar

Could you try removing those things for a while?

Could you try removing those things for a while? We just spoke about that since they are old. We will try and install some float shelves.
These decoration plates are from a old oven..they where cook plates once.

I hope she doesn't chew your floating shelf too.. π
You could apply something bitter or something that doesn't taste good to her.. that can deter her from chewing it for the time being.. or something that scares her.. many birds are scared of changes, until they turn their humans into slaves.. π

Its to late..we are under her cuteness spell allready
We tryed to name her today while we had her attention on the finger. So we called her "Bimse" several times to se if she liked that name...oh boy that dident go so well...she lashed after me and took a huge bite of my lips like some ratle snake that dident want to let go ! I was in pain and my mother just laughed..so now i will hold her further away from my face trying to find new names

Covering up the offending item will work, hoping that she loses interest and finds something else to obsess over. My original post was supposed to read βbitter apple sprayβ.

We put em down and installed floating shelf. Now she found a dream catcher with some feathers to climb in. Thats at least more funny to watch She is very acrobatic..i have never seen a budgie like this before. Her feets and beak are everywhere and she jumps on my finger when we open the cage.
But still after few flights and exploring then the cage is the best place to be

π So females are the most destructives ones ? We only had males when i was a kid an dits like having a whole other bird species.
For now we can just open teh cage door and she comes out on her own. That a huge progress from not want to come out at all.
Last day she was on my arm and started to look in to my hairs and then she rubbed her beak against my arm. Moment of cuteness

Moment of cuteness Females most definitely are the more destructive -they are the ones who go looking for a place to make into a nest, chewing and lining it for eggs, so be careful and be sure to check everywhere she goes to make sure there isnβt anything she may decide is a potential nesting site. Hens are much more inquisitive as well.

Hens are definitely the most inquisitive. I have an unwell budgie called George (for the benefit of those that do not know) and he's in the kitchen currently because one of my hens (Iris) keeps hassling him as he has a daily millet ration.
She really wants to fly to the kitchen and is still psyching herself up, flying to the door and back.
