Maybe the poops are as they are as he’s drunk quite a bit? It sounds promising that he’s bothering to eat and drink, I think

Oh no. Poor George. I'm so sorry this has happened. I think it's a good sign that he's eating and drinking and it does'nt seem like he is ready to give up yet. You are taking such good care of him and I think it's the right decision to give him a chance to recover. You'll know if it is the right time to take him to the vets, and even though it's a horrible decision to make, you'll know when he wants you to make it.
Hugs xx

It is a good thing that he is still able to stand up and see to his food. Have you seen him preen at all, as that can be an indication of how he is feeling? It is also good news that he hasn’t gotten any worse in the first couple of days after his first seizure. I’ve only had a young budgie have a seizure and he was able to make an almost full recovery the first time. Years later he did suffer another with the worst outcome. George is not young unfortunately and it would seem that the quicker he recovers in those first few days, the better.
Really hoping you notice some improvement over the next day or two. Xx

Hezz He has tried to preen but it's hard for him because of his balance issue. He's still with us this morning, he's had some water (with daily essentials1) and a nibble of some dill. I have replaced his paper towel and given more red millet.

oh bless him. maybe he can learn to lean against the side that is not working, using that as support, so he can preen the other side, if that makes sense

I just saw this thread. I'm so sorry Marianne. You might remember Pitto had a bad stroke. In his case, he was in that state for 3 hours with no sign of improvement, and I couldn't leave him to die a slow and painful death when there was no hope of recovery. I hope your little one pulls through. Pitto recovered fine after the first stroke, so I'm hoping your bird will recover enough to still enjoy life. Poor little thing. It's so hard when they can't tell you how they are

Poor little George. At least he's trying to preen. He must wonder why he can't manage to do his usual things, poor poppet.
