That's a brilliant improvement. I'm so pleased for both of you. Well done to you for taking such good care of him and well done to George for getting better.

I'm not counting my chickens yet, but it's nice to see him in a cage and I know he really wants to be there, hence the bites of frustration. Also when in his carrier for the last two days he would sometimes flap when Iris landed on the roof.

Wonderful! He must be so happy to be back up with his friends. Excellent news that he’s using his wings to compensate for his balance issues. I think he has the potential to go from strength to strength. I’ll be honest, seeing those photos of him climbing up in Penny’s cage made me feel a little emotional. It’s a fantastic achievement for him. I hope being able to have the space to grip, climb and right his balance will make his recovery so much quicker and his nights in the carrier will be a short term necessity. You must feel a lot better yourself Marianne Marlow as finding him last week must have been so horrible. I bet George is tired after so much exercise and will enjoy a good sleep tonight. I’m a huge believer in sleep being a great healer.

It’s amazing, the improvement. So glad for him and you. I’m sure being back with the buds will encourage him further.

I had to put him back in the carrier at 7.15pm as he got very tired. He's happily eating millet in his box.
I hope I did not push him too hard.

Bless George, he is certainly showing improvement Marianne. I think my old JoJo had 3 stroke like incidents, it takes a while but they can recover quite well, your doing all the right things to help him, baby steps

I really do think that as normal a routine as possible is the best rehab for them in these circumstances. His leg will get stronger, hopefully, the more he gets to use it normally. Time in with a non-flier was a great idea, M.

I hope you're right Hezz. He did get too tired to climb back up, which is why I put him back in the carrier box. I questioned whether I had done the right thing, but living in that box is no life for him really. He was occasionally flapping in frustration when budgies landed on the box, so I felt I had to give him something different.
