How long did it take JoJo to recover? Bless George, he is certainly showing improvement Marianne. I think my old JoJo had 3 stroke like incidents, it takes a while but they can recover quite well, your doing all the right things to help him, baby steps

I think you did the right thing putting George in Penny's cage. He looks so happy in the video and I'm sure he'll get a good night sleep now.

George seemed really bright and eager this morning, so after giving him some water and millet, I put him in Penny's cage. He climbed up as before, but I had to put him back in the carrier as after about 20 minutes he got tired. He's back in the carrier after having water and being given some basil, seed and millet. I put a mirror in, in the forlorn hope it'd make him feel less alone.

p.s. that is not a crack in the mirror, it's a reflection of the lid of the carrier

I understand you not wanting to get your hopes up. I'd feel like that too. You are doing such a great job for him and even if he can only manage short visits to Penny's cage I'm sure he really appreciates it.

Maybe our budgies are like us when recovering - some days we have more energy than others, but hopefully the general trend is up. Maybe he'll have more energy later in the day.

This evening, I put George in Penny's cage again. After this morning not going too well, I did not expect much. George, however had other ideas. He was in the cage for 2 hours. He did fall to the bottom twice, but got himself right back up. Also at one point he ended up with both feet in the water bowl, which I don't think was intentional and really worried me as it made me think of when Hector almost drowned in his water bowl. I received some almighty bites when I reached in to put him back in his carrier for bedtime, but he quickly accepted his fate and tucked into some millet. Here are some photos, and a short video of him eating at the seed trough (he didn't even try that yesterday) Snoozing I made it up again mum I'm a brave boy Hello Blithe, don't get too close

Well done George. Lovely photos and it's good to see him tucking in at the seed trough. He's looking really good.

Well done George! Glad to hear you are enjoying your visits to see Penny. I hope you have stopped telling her to go away as she is being so nice and letting you share her seed. I'm looking forward to hearing what you get up to tomorrow.
