That’s great, willowsmum; wonderful to have such success with your grasses as well. And yes, some may fall off in the process but as you say, a little bowl-full of grass seeds will still be appreciated. Usually I will keep my next day’s worth of grass on a bench in some water, but with our recent spell of really hot weather I decided to try putting it into a plastic bag and in the fridge instead. Not our daily food fridge … i can just hear the cacophony of objections if I had tried … and in the door of the fridge so out of the way. The dew and a water from a wash off plus keeping the grass cool has been great as well, better than in a vase on the bench.

Oooh, good idea with the fridge Hezz. When I find a really good haul in the summer I keep them in water in a vase on the bench too but they start to look pretty sorry after a day or so. I'll try the fridge idea next time - thanks!

I imagine it may last for up to a week in the fridge, and I haven’t noticed much in the way of seed drop either.
