Will he perch on your finger? If so, I'd wait until you can feel that he's gripping the same with both feet.

He does perch on my finger and I can’t tell much difference, but he is definitely more hesitant when moving around his cage and doesn’t like to jump lower . He still hovers with the foot and picks at it . He is moulting again poor little thing.

We have raised the cage floor a bit. I had never used the grill that came with the vision cage , I bought the cardboard vision cut out and covered it with dust free bird wood chip. So now have put the grill at the bottom, then the board and chippings. I am hoping he will soon get the confidence to jump down again….it’s a nice soft landing. Does anyone else use this bedding? It is what my breeder uses and so easy to clean the cage out.

Sounds great, hopefully once he knows it won’t hurt him, he’ll start gaining confidence

Sounds like he is improving.
I just use newspapers on top of the grate.

Charlie just isn’t well today. He is moulting a bit but it doesn’t usually effect him like this…. He hasn’t moved much from his favourite perch, isn’t talking and isn’t eating much either. I brought him into the conservatory with me and he did come out briefly, but then wanted to go back in his cage. I don’t think he is holding his leg up much…..I am just so worried I really thought he was improving a lot yesterday….

Hopefully its just the combination of molting and getting over the sprain that's got him down today. Rest up little guy and get back to your usual perky self.

Agree, probably the combination of his foot and moult and feeling a bit fed up.
Hopefully he’ll be a lot brighter tomorrow.

No, not at all. It’s just so hard when they can’t tell you. Max has been scratching today, now I’m like omg, needs treating

Poor Charlie and poor you, we love them so much and it is just so stressful when they aren't well.

It can really be draining when they have a heavy moult so hopefully he’ll soon perk up and stop you worrying so much. I’m just the same. Honestly, adult kids and pets have rapidly increased my grey hairs!!

I agree, moulting, sore foot, stressful vet visit, they'll all be taking it out of him poor soul. Hope he is feeling brighter tomorrow. If only they could tell us what's wrong.

ladybird how is Charlie getting along? Hopefully his foot is better and the molt is not affecting him too badly.
