After spending a few weeks not dieting, due to having Covid. I am back on the wagon! I lost 3 stone in the last 7 months and I'd like to lose 1 more. As my appetite has returned, it's going to be a hard slog! Todays lunch was a Spiced Butternut soup, Gluten free cheese oatcakes and a Rocket and Tomato salad.

Looks yummy. I feel for you Marianne Marlow. I'm just getting over a cold (luckily it was not anything more serious) and I allowed myself to eat foods not on my diet. Gluten really messes me up bad so I didn't eat that. Now I need to get back on my correct diet. Trying to drop weight is difficult for me since I'm not getting out and being as active as I should. Good luck to us both!

That looks delicious. Wouldn’t it be nice, when you are trying to diet, if someone put something like that in front of you?

Good luck to us! I find it pretty hard to lose weight too as my steroids really give me an appetite and I am also pretty inactive. Looks yummy. I feel for you Marianne Marlow. I admit I didn't make the soup, it's a new covent garden carton That looks delicious. Wouldn’t it be nice, when you are trying to diet, if someone put something like that in front of you?

Wow, well done you. I’ve got to do something. I hate I can’t wear anything. Going to try calorie counting again

That looks so yummy and healthy Marianne..
I have gained weight too.. I can't really diet 🙈 I tend to gain weight if I stop the diet I had been on. I have been wanting to play badminton and practice dance/ learn new dance form since a long time.. I hope I can get back to that 😃
Till then, my mom's magic is working on me. I have lost 4 kg/8 lb in the past month 🙈 It's definitely the food she prepares..

Well done Marianne, are you doing Slimming World, Weight Watchers or on your own. I'm doing Weight Watchers and lost 32 lbs in the last 16 weeks. It is hard but persevering. Good luck.

I’m doing points and following recipes. I’m doing it online, the app is great and lots of people on connect (like Facebook) very inspiring. If you get a referral it’s 3 months free for you and one free for me. It’s a lot better than it used to be. Marianne is doing really well but I don’t know what she is doing

Gluten free food is more calorific too, so it’s not easy losing weight when you’re coeliac is it Marianne Marlow? I empathise. I stuck to the NHS calorie counting diet between August and December last year and basically I kept the calories at 1400 or below each day but I made sure I didn’t feel like I was going without, so if I did a roast I’d have a quorn fillet (I’ve been vegetarian since I was 15), two homemade yorkies, two servings of veg and gravy, and omit the roast potatoes or have just one. I found that vegetable casserole was filling and warming and even my cheesy dumplings (can’t find gluten free vegetarian suet so I use grated cheese) weren’t too calorific. I love home made soup so that was something I made a lot, sweet potato and butternut squash being our favourite but I’ll basically throw anything in and again, it is filling. I knew I needed to move more though so I got the Wii Fit out and started doing 10 mins a day and by October I was doing 50 mins a day, early in the morning before 8am if I could. I had a nice routine and followed the same one each day. I was shocked how my stamina improved. I’ve never been into sports (I was one of the last kids picked for teams at school, because I was pretty useless and just disinterested in PE) and this was the first time I’d stuck religiously to exercise. I won’t say I enjoyed it as I’d be lying but I did enjoy seeing the loss each week, whether it was 1lb or 2lb. I lost over a stone and then it went pear-shaped in the New Year. I only put on 3lb over Christmas but January is when I tend to get stuck into the Christmas chocolate… Anyway, I’ve gained half a stone more than I would like and so I’m intending to do the same again only my willpower has gone out the window and whenever I get back into it, something happens such as getting TMJ in my jaw that made movement painful plus of course breaking my foot. Right now I’m eating way too much so I’m hoping I get my motivation back soon. My anxiety levels have been high again and I definitely snack when I really don’t need to. Good luck to everyone trying to shift some pounds (or kilos). Seems like we’re all in a similar situation.

When I was going shopping all the time I was good in the summer, salads etc.
I’m currently better in the colder months as make nice casseroles in my slow cooker.
At the moment I’m really not walking - I’d been so good til I did my toe. Just hard to motivate at the mo
