I baked lemon drizzle cupcakes this week. I’ve eaten the majority! My teen son will have one for his pud each evening, my daughter is either working or out with her boyfriend, my other son still at home is generally in a grump as we don’t like his girlfriend, my eldest came over today to do an oil change in his truck with hubby and he had one (can rely on him to eat me out of house and home) but his girlfriend is in a gym routine at the moment and declined. What’s a woman to do?! I give them to hubby too but when I have the munchies and there’s something in the cake tin… I gave up baking regularly last year when I was being good. I’d just make little buns/fairy cakes with no icing on the top. Even when I did birthday cakes as we have birthdays in October, November and early December, I behaved. Problem is my speciality is cheesecake and pavlovas and I might just sneak extra little slivers when everyone else is at work!!

I taught my eldest son’s girlfriend how to make cheesecakes and she was so pleased and made a few different flavours and even took one to work. Now my son demands them and she’s trying to keep fit, plus her parents are dieting before going to a family wedding in Ibiza. She had the second Pfizer vaccine this week and reacted so was in bed for two days. He dared to ask her if she’d made him the cheesecake he’d requested! She’s going to make him one for next weekend and he’s assured her if her family only want a little bit he’ll happily make sure none is wasted.

This thread is making me hungry. I had lunch at 1pm and I have 700 calories for dinner (gf pasta with cheese)
But dinner wont be until 7-8pm.
BOOHOOO!!! Maybe it's time to start biting my nails... how many calories in nails?

Help me. Even my toddler's uneaten food looks tempting.

Do you like Spanish omelettes Marianne Marlow? I make one with 8 eggs, half a bag of spinach, half a large leek, 10 mushrooms, 10 cherry toms and cheese and quartered it comes to 324 calories per slice. It’s nice and deep so like a quiche without the pastry I guess. Put a salad with it and it is filling enough, plus of course you can put in other ingredients. I did one adding in sweet potato, cumin seeds and garam masala for a bit of a kick which was nice. Often I add in broccoli or courgette or onion instead of leek, but the calories don’t differ hugely. The clincher is how much cheese you grate over the top!

I've decided I can only read this thread if I'm eating something low cal otherwise I'd be too tempted to splurge. I'm finishing up a bowl of fresh cherries - nothing added to them. They are in season here now and so good.

Oooh, aren't you virtuous I had my GF pasta and grated cheese, then I was naughty and had a Trek flapjack, I usually save those for breakfast. Only went over by 4 calories though, so I feel okay about that. I've decided I can only read this thread if I'm eating something low cal otherwise I'd be too tempted to splurge.
