Hi guys, I have ADHD and I have a hard time keeping up with keeping my Budgies food healthy and nutritional. When I first got them 3 years ago I was really attentive to what they ate and would often cook meals/spend lots of time making sure they were eating really well. But over time with the routine, I ended up getting lazy/forgetful and began feeding more and more seeds for the sake of convenience.
I have a hard time figuring out exactly how much all my budgies need to eat, usually I mixed all my seeds into a big air tight bin and would scoop out a bowl full every morning cuz it was easy. I need prepping their meals to be super fast and easy or else I fear I will slip back into just seeds/pellets. Something I think might help is setting up a tsp/tablespoon/measuring cup system for example: 2 tbsp seeds daily, 1/2 cup veggies daily etc. what do you guys think?
I am working on streamlining the process to make it easier on myself; starting with compiling a complete list of budgie safe food to keep on my fridge. I would appreciate any help making sure my list has as many foods as possible!

So, I give my budgies 1 tsp seeds per budgie. I have segregated the meals into sprouts/soft food meal, veggie chop meal and seeds.. 1 tsp of soft food and 1 tsp of veggie chop works well per budgie for me. I read somewhere (maybe on this forum itself) that the amount of food they eat is equivalent to the size of their head.
Though it's not a schedule, but I give these on rotational basis... if the homegrown grass grows well, I give them grasses, herbal tea, leafy veggies fresh herbs/dried herbs, edible dried flowers, eggs etc during the day.. Bird bread made of pellets occasionally.. Whatever they don't like, I put that in the bird bread usually, since it's easier. Other times, I blend it and add it to their soft food, but only the ones that they would eat. The ones they absolutely hate goes into birdie bread. I make bird bread with custom ingredients I have at home. I make one herb bread too.
I would just make sure any kind of tea is natural one for them. I have dried chamomile flower, rose petals, hibiscus petals and lavender petals for making caffiene free flower tea.. I use them for the birdies too.I don't give them fruits, honey, raisins, peanut, butter, any kind of bread except homemade birdie bread, pasta etc. Normally, I avoid sugary fruits as per the info from this forum.
I make bird bread in small cupcake size mould, which works well for the week. Veggie chop made per week or for 15 days (depending on availability of veggies over here) and deep freeze it. Sometimes, we don't have access to budgie safe veggies over here, so I have to deep freeze the chop sometimes. Soft food is normally for two to three days. So, the rest of the days I have to just care about filling their food bowls with readymade items..
