That's a cute snake I didn’t think a box of real slitherers would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone. I'm having a nice day so far, had a few cards and someone even sent me a voicemail and she sang "Happy Birthday" to me . I'm going out for lunch later(first time for ages!) and tomorrow I'm off to the local Falconry Centre, I don't think there are any snakes there....

That would be your yearly falconry visit? Pics, please …. Otherwise it didn’t happen.

Well, that was an absolute nightmare! And I blame Hezz for putting a curse on it! If you're sitting comfortably, I shall begin. The usual plan is: A quick 20 minute blast down the motorway to the garage and drop off my car for its service. Pick up the courtesy car and drive another 4 miles to the Falconry Centre and spend a leisurely afternoon watching the big birds on display. As I approached the garage, I noticed the traffic was heavier than normal, in fact the main roads were mostly gridlocked, especially the one I needed. Picked up the courtesy car and joined the crawl, thinking it would clear...but it didn't. Twenty minutes later and still in the queue and approaching the road I needed, only to find it was closed with police cars everywhere. Apparently there was a serious RTA right outside where I was trying to get to and the road was closed in both directions. Using the satnav, I tried to find a country lane for an alternative way in but they were all shut too! So after spending two hours in various queues, villages(which had a much needed parish hall with a loo ) and country lanes, did I mention the two sets of roadworks too, I gave up and went back to the garage. Finally, after more delays on the motorway and more roadworks I got home . On the plus side, the car was serviced, washed and hoovered. Thankfully the courtesy car was quite nice too, a small SUV thing, all electric and automatic which was very useful in the stop/start queues, it was quite fast on the odd occasion where I got above 10mph! So you were right Hezz , no pics, because it didn't happen. What a disappointment. I may try again next week....

I'm sorry it didn't go to plan. Hopefully you'll get to go there soon.
Hope you at least had some cake?

That's a shame Steve. I hate when things don't go to plan, I hope next week is better.
