Sometimes as I'm reading someone's post, a question or thought will occur to me that's not quite "on topic" for the thread so I'll just let it slide. Yes (as you know!) I have asked the question hoping it doesn't de-rail the thread. So I've decided to create this thread where I can ask those questions. I invite anyone to also post a random question here.
My first question: in a recent post (now I fogot where/who), someone mentioned feeding budgies hardboiled eggs and said "we all know what happens when we feed them too much egg". Hmmm, I don't know - what happens?

Were you thinking of me who said I can’t eat a lot of egg?

said:Ah yes, I’d forgotten about that. Thank goodness they eat it.
I know what happens if I have a lot of egg, lol
I’m seeing a few baby feathers but seen a few pinnies at the back of his head, so I’ll keep it up and see what the others give during moults.
I only buy eggs to make cake etc. Occasionally I have French toast.
I’m going to make up a chop this wknd to see if he’ll eat it
This post?

ffiscool I can't eat eggs at all! The bit of eggs in baked goods don't seem to upset me much but no breakfast of eggs for me! I do think the comment of budgies and too much egg might have been in your thread about Max but since I didn't ask the question right away, I forgot where. I wondered because my guys get some hardboiled egg every day and it seems the recommended amount is 1-2 times a week. Am I potentially harming my guys?

If it was that, it is in the posts Re Max
I read that for moulting and breeding they can have egg every day. I’m giving him once or twice a week, but will increase when he moults. I’ve not seen anything about too much egg being detrimental

Both my guys have very wet droppings but they are being fed only sprouts, cooked lentils, brown rice, couscous and fresh herbs/greens and egg with millet as a treat. I attributed the wet droppings to the food. But, like all of you, I wonder if I'm doing the right thing for them.

It sounds like a well balanced diet. I’ve got to get Max off just seed. Bailey is really good with lots of veg

tweetiepiesmom mine have wet dropping when they eat those sorts of foods too. Pretty sure it's just the moisture content, as they're naturally dry food eaters.

Whew! I'll stop worrying about that and move on to worrying about something else!

Good question though. I give egg twice a week usually and thankfully they like it but how much egg is too much is a good thought. I know what you mean about how easy it is to derail a thread…I think I’m guilty of that one!
