conkers in the corners of rooms supposed to work. I keep a whiskey glass on hand ready to catch them. I find they come out when my oh is away I don't like them but I am not as freaked out as I used to be! … and if said spider absconds, whiskey can be added to said whiskey glass and slugged down for a little extra intestinal fortitude. Then seek and repeat.

I spent some time this afternoon evicting spiders from our outside toilet. My parents are visiting at the weekend and to save going up the stairs my mum has asked if she can use the outside loo. It's a good thing she isn't scared of spiders as they will be back in their again by Saturday but at least all the cobwebs are gone. We normally just use the building as a shed and I forget that there's even a toilet out there. Even though I'm not scared of spiders I'd still rather have a lizard. We had an outdoor loo when I was growing up. (No indoor one). Spiders, lizards, lots of frogs and the occasional snake 🐍, regular visitors. . The frogs would always sit in the toilet bowl, I used to worry that one would want to come out while I was sitting down.

I’ve got another. I just missed it but not sure where it is. Might be under the chair. I can’t move the chair as I’m scared. Not had this many in a short space before. I can’t go to bed until I find it

I’m going to have to hope it goes back to where it came from. I don’t know how I missed it, but now I’m on edge again. Praying it stays at floor level as I’m now in bed. I don’t know where my fear came from as I’ve been the same always. Used to scream til my dad sorted it.
Agh

I hoovered all corners today, and behind places. Then just putting max to bed, and either the same one, hopefully - or another - just on the floor, I got it. I understand it a bit more if I was ground floor…. Weird

I'm not as freaked out by spiders as some but bugs are not allowed in my house. If I find a bug in my house, its life on this earth is ended with my apologies to those of you who try to capture and release. This morning as I was making my fruit smoothie for breakfast, a spider crawling across the kitchen floor caught my eye. Squish!

Ok, I'm not that scared of spiders except...
You may have read on another thread that I am going to learn to crochet. I've found the perfect triangular shawl pattern for a beginner. I've been working on it, doing a bit, putting it down and picking it up later to work on. Today I sat down, finished working on one side and flipped it over to continue. And yes, you guessed it - there was a spider sitting on my work on the side that had been down. I jumped up, shook it out and started to look for where it landed. Of course, I'm wearing black slacks and top so I brushed myself down in case it landed on me. Don't know where it is, maybe under the chair. If it knows what's good for it, it'll stay there and get out tonight! You can bet I'm going to shake out my project and chec it over before I start crocheting again!

Ooh I’m anxious for you…
Way back, getting out the bath, grabbed my towel and there was one. I threw the towel and stood in the bath ages. It eventually ran off.
I hate being on alert - but I am at the mo

I feel for you. The weather here is cooling getting more like fall and that's breeding season for spiders.

OMG I just put my hand in the recycling bag, it is black inside, a BIG BIG BIG spider started to crawl up my hand. I screamed, the hubby, thank goodness at home, ran downstairs, thought I hurt myself. I then made him empty my washing basked, the dog food bag, we are dog sitting, and shake all the dirty washing. WELL it couldn't be found. So he went back upstairs and I went to put the recycling out and it was there in a tray on my kitchen top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shouted to him to come downstairs, he's shouting he's on the toilet, I'm shouting "get off the toilet", which he obliging did. I then made him take it across the road into the long grass so he wouldn't come back in. If it was on the floor I am ok with them, but definitely NOT ON MY HAND. Well this is all before 8.30 am It's going to be one of those days!!!!

I’m not too bad with spiders, thank goodness. That said, not sure I’d be up for the ones in Australia!! Last week I washed all the outside ground floor windows and sills and cleared all the spider webs and nest sacs. Making it all clean and ensuring the spiders found somewhere else to go and nest in one hit! I had a nightmare about a snake the other night however. It was on my stairs, heaven forbid, and was an adder but the size of a big python!! In my dream I hid in my bedroom and called my eldest son to come and get rid of it. 😱
