Morgan that is fascinating, thank you! Here is a noddy question for you. If a bird is a normal opaline, can the location of the patches change as the bird moults? I can't really recall with silver, and I'm not sure id have noticed? Looking at a baby photo of this guy he had one tiny patch of blue coming through on his neck, but he has changed rather significantly since then with a lot more colour coming through. Hezz I think he is stunning, reject or not 😁

I know for certain that my Topsie has not changed his pattern, because he is just a little uneven on one side, and I wondered also if he would molt in an even pattern or stay the same. He has stayed the same so far. But chickens can change colors a little bit every year as they age! Nothing drastic, but usually the boys have more and darker colors each year of age, and the hens may be very even toned when young, then become slightly less even toned over time (if they started out all one color).
