It's with a very heavy heart that i'm here to say that we have lost our beloved Bailey I have already spoken to Fran ( ffiscool ) earlier today to let her know this sad news. As some may know Bailey had liver and kidney issues which were discovered around 18 months ago, the vet also confirmed this so we have pretty much been on a maintenance plan since then with diet and supplements including milk thistle. On the whole he has done so well, he would have what i called episodes where he would have watery poo and seemed a bit low but in true Bailey fashion he would rally and get back on his feet with the help of an extra boost of milk thistle. Recently these episodes have been getting closer together. On Monday last week i noticed an episode starting and upped the anti with heat and extra milk thistle and he seemed ok but yesterday i noticed him sleeping more than usual. At 8pm i always go in to do the bedtime routine and cover them on three sides, he got on his swing as usual to settle down but when i went back in at 10 to pull the front cover down he was on the floor and i just knew he wasn't good, i picked him up and sat and cuddled him into me which he liked, he passed peacefully away around 10.30 Bailey came to live with us on 31st Jan 2016 from Fran and he has been a happy and very much loved member of our flock and family ever since and we will all miss him so very much, it's been a tough year for me personally this year and iv'e shed many tears but Bailey had a wonderful way of always making me smile, he was a special soul and as Fran said, a gentle soul. Fly high sweet boy in fields of millet with all our beautiful friends who are waiting just over that pretty bridge to meet you Some pictures of Bailey's time with us and i hope Fran will add some bits about his early life with her as well His first day in Budshire Waiting to join the gang Meet and greet day Why wont you come out and play He's out and George was first to greet him, they remained very close friends With dear Bumble Hopefully he's had a ball here in Budshire, he certainly always seemed happy. It's been just him and Iris for a while now, she is a little lost today as am i but we have soooooo many happy memory's among our tears

Oh Bailey, you dear little man. This year has been a cruel one for the loss of so many precious budgies. Even though I've never met them, after hearing about them for so many years it still hurts to hear that they have gone. Lots of love to you both, skysmum and ffiscool. And you fly high, Bailey, so there won't be any grey days at rainbow bridge.

Bailey Bailey, lemon squeezy, so many things to say about you. You were not the first budgie I brought home from the breeder that July in 2013, I don’t think you were in the cage when I was choosing. But the little one I did bring home was so terrified and didn't stop shaking that I thought he might not make it, so I took him back and there you were.. it was fate. You definitely thought you were human most of the time, and were very loving except for the biting phase. You were scared to leave the lounge, yet loved being in your cage in the car, on the highest perch looking out the window and chatting. Loved other people and talking to them, even once in the vet and they were amazed by you. You loved your mirrors, but who can blame you when you were so handsome. You were my little pal right from the beginning – learning to talk early and with your extensive vocabulary, you always made me laugh. Your first phrase was ‘it’s a grey day today’. You spent many an evening on the sofa (well, the remote actually), watching tv with me, chattering. You were such a good boy with your veggies and most things I offered you. When I was working at home, you helped (or was that hindered, lol). When I was away you stayed with my dad, shouting louder than the tv, getting their attention and amazing them with your chatter/words, but you were always glad to come home to your toys and me. It was so so hard rehoming you, but I had no choice at that time. But I knew you would love being with skysmum and her gang. You even got some of them eating veg. You were always a gentleman though from what I gather, with the ladies. You had new friends there and I came to visit. Whilst it was bittersweet that I had to go again, you knew who I was, so that was amazing. I hadn’t seen you for a long time this time, due to covid but I knew you were getting the best care always. Even though you hadn’t been with me for 5 years, you never ever left that place in my heart. I have attached a few photos when he was younger and a recording of him. Night, night beautiful Bailey, you were a very special boy indeed. xx

Ahhhh that's lovely Fran. I'll never forget the day he chatted my brother up by telling him he loved him, did he want a kiss and to go to bed My brothers face was a picture, he said it was the best offer he had had all year, he always went in to see Bailey when he visited, everyone loved him

My heart goes out to you both, skysmum and ffiscool. . It definitely is a grey day today on the forum, to have lost one of our long-term characters, and whatever else Bailey might have been he certainly was character-full. Rest In Peace dear Bailey, you will be missed by us all.

I'm so sorry to hear this ffiscool and skysmum. Take care of yourselves. Bailey was clearly a super special little budgie and an incredibly handsome chap to boot. He sounds like he lived his best life with you both. I can't imagine many being able to resist his chat up lines! Fly high little one. X
