well last night i noticed Ada was laying on her perch funny (she often lays on it but this time her tail was allmost curled under the perch) so i got her out to check her foot. Reasontly its been staying light red after the antibiotics she had and i scrubbed all her stuff with trigeen. Anyway last night it was very dark red and the little scab has gotton bigger so that was why she was laying funny. She only has natural wood parched and rope perches, and news paper on the floor. Ive put a towl o the floor now to make it softer for her to walk on. I was thinking of putting some fabric around the wooden perches to make them softer, would this be a good idea? Im going to book her in with her exotics vet but he is only in on monday, is there anything i can put on her foot (like sudocream) to help or would that just make it worse?
The problem is this bumblefoot is only on her left foot the other one is perfect HOWEVER its being caused by the right one as she cant put her weight on it so puts most of her weight on the left foot. at night she stands on her sleeping perch with the right foot holding the bars and standing on her left foot. She has allways had this weakness in her right leg, she she came home she couldnt stand and would crawl around. It took her a month to lurn to stand on a perch and anoth month to lurn to sleep on one with out falling (she is now 15months). She still cant walk propperly, one foot goes back anf forth but the other one goes out sideways, and due to the weak leg she holds her body at an angle as she keeps her weight off of it. The vet has felt her leg and cant feel anything wrong.
So does anyone have any idea on what to do to help her foot?

It does sound like she needs to see a vet, but in the meantime you can soften the perches, perhaps using very tight weave bandages tightly wrapped around the perch so her feet can't get stuck in them, and she can't chew them and either get tangled or swallow the fibres. You have to keep the fabric clean as well, as they could cause further infection if dirtied. Keep the cage super clean as well, as the sores are easily made worse with infections.
Has she got any staining above her cere? It indicates a Vit A deficiency and is common in bumblefoot.
You'll need vet prescribed antibiotics and anti inflammatories.

Something like savlon could help, PP. It sounds as though you need something in place long term, though, as this isn't the first time, is it? And the other leg isn't going to right itself, so I really would ask the vet if there is anything you can do/use to help prevent the bumblefoot in the first place, before her suffering shows up as a sore.

Thanks you, nope no staining abouve the cere stance. Ill wrap her sleeping perch as she spends most of her time on that one. I make sure to disenfect the perches once a week and will get more towls for her cage floor and change that every other day. does that sound like it would be clean enough? No its the second time Hezz, it never realy wnet away from the last time just got better. I was wondering if i could get some sort of pad to try to attach to her foot but cant think how i would go about doing it. I got her an appoitment for monday (he only works monday)

Good luck, come Monday, PP I do hope the vet can give you some help in keeping Ada's foot healthy. Make sure he knows that the sore never really disappeared, just got a bit better. Make him aware that you need a long-term solution, not a quick fix.

i use trygen spray, it comes ready diluted. i spray the perch then srubb in water. But i brought it after the first time she got it. i wrapped her sleeping perch, she was not impressed but after i plonked her on it she stayed there . dont know if she was on it all night as she was up early today eating her millit. She is also not talking to me after i clipped a few claws and put a tiny bit of cream on her foot.

forgot about the vets today and missed the appoitment but managed to get squeezed in. It was a diffrent exotic vet and the usualy one is away. She prescribed ada some baytrill which i got to pick up tomorrow as they apperantly didnt have any. (how a vets can run out of it i dont know) She also gave me a bottle of mettacam, its a painkiller and anti-inflamitory to partly help the bumble foot not be as painfull and to see if ada will start baring weight on her weak leg, as she says if she is putting her weight on the left leg as the right one is painfull she should stop with pain killers. If she doesnt then we will know her weak leg isnt painfull. She said they could sedate her and take an exray but due to her size and her having beak and feather so thus a shorter lifespan she didnt feel the stress and risk was fair as proberly wouldnt be able to do any sugery to fix anythin. he explained what they would do in a larger bird with her bumble foot (which would be to operate and scrape it all out and put a ball of bandge on it and wrap the foot up to take the presuer off) but said her foot would be too small to do that with. She agreed with wrapping her perches and towls on the floor to give her softer places to stand. She was weighed and she has put on a bit of weight, the dose is 0.03 for baytril twice a day but didnt matter if she accidently got a bit more but not more than 0.05. and also 0.03 for the mattacam but deff no more than 0.03 of it so just a drop once a day.

Ada was not impressed with the new vet as she stroked her back! no one is allowed to stroke her back lol and eagle got jelous.
