We froze the chop on a baking tray instead of spending hours freezing batches of ice cube trays of it. Next time I think we should layer in some paper to make it freeze in strips rather than one giant block! Then my housemate won't have to chisel it by hammering in a knife!

I could just buy more ice cube trays. This mix has brown rice, quinoa, chickpeas, haricot beans, sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, broccoli, celery, baby corn, basil, dill, and then some dried mediterranean herbs. Smells nice. Even OH wants to eat it.

It looks delicious. From the thumbnail image at first I thought it was a yummy crumble topping.

Me too ffiscool. With my son and daughter barely home at the weekends now and my youngest unwilling to eat desserts due to his self-restricted diet, hubby and I have realised we get to eat puds all by ourselves now. We’ve loved a huge apple and pear crumble with clotted cream ice cream and banoffee pie cheesecake for the past two weekends. I bake them on a Friday and we indulge.

Before reading this talk of pudding I made an apple pie. I'm looking forward to eating it now. Ira so do you cook any/all of the ingredients? And if so, for how long?

criswell I cook the rice, quinoa and beans according to their instructions. I use a chopper for the beans. I usually finely chop the sweet potato, carrot and parsnip, then steam them. I steamed on batch over the cooking rice and the other over the quinoa. The carrot and parsnip got the masher whilst the sweet potato went into the chopper. Leaves were just chopped up fine with a knife. Celery and baby corn were cut and chopped in the chopper because this lot won't eat them otherwise. And the broccoli was shaved with a knife so the little green nubs went in but not the rest of the floret.

I'll have to give that a try. I've not had much luck with new foods in the past because Mr Randolph Carter did not like change, especially if it involved his food and he'd get everyone in a panic. But maybe Dexter and DS might be willing to try something new. If they don't want to eat it, I will I think I'll start small with just a couple of veg chopped up with some herbs and if they like that then I'll work up to something more impressive like you make.
