It’s become routine for Chipper to safety test the seed each evening I think. Max would be the last one dancing at a party! I love the smell of basil.

Basil was a big favourite with my gang for a time. It's been a while, they may be ready for it again by now. Good reminder!

Chipper found a feather and Max wanted to play with it too.

Budgies do love feathers. Max liked twiddling them

My two are afraid of their feathers. I saw a presentation by a parrot behaviorist and she said to use a wing or tail feather to give them little scritches around the head. Once they get used to that, then you can use you finger. Didn't work. They got scared and flew away!

I love the reaction my budgies have to feathers slowly floating down to the floor. Their gazes are riveted to the feather. If I pick up the feather and drop it near them - again, riveted. So funny!

Whenever I showed budgies a feather in the past, they flew off in disgust!

Whenever I showed budgies a feather in the past, they flew off in disgust! That's interesting. Mine have always looked at them puzzled and then gone in for a good chew... I often provide feathers as a toy! I love the bedtime antics photos - we know who is boss budgie in your house 🤣

Munchy used to totally freak out at his own feathers. Once they were no longer attached to him then they were clearly dangerous.
Gwen will wield a flight feather like a sword.

I love the bedtime antics photos - we know who is boss budgie in your house 🤣 He's your wing man 😉. I think four budgies returned to their cage in three minutes at bedtime makes you undoubtedly the top budgie. EDIT: I frequently refer to myself as 'the odd looking budgie' maybe it's just me that considers themselves a flock member 🤣

Oh I see what you're saying Actually 3 minutes is too long, I'm only happy with myself if it takes a minute or less. But since Chipper joined their cage, they take longer to get in. He's your wing man 😉. I think four budgies returned to their cage in three minutes at bedtime makes you undoubtedly the top budgie.
