Those happy huts are a very bad idea for any bird. Not only do you run the risk of crop impaction from the birds chewing on the fabric, and they will eventually even if they are not at the moment, but your hens will see it as a potential nesting place. You do not want to push your hens into thinking that breeding is something they need to do.

So yes as the others say, take the tent out. There are a number of things that could be wrong with her and she really does need to see a vet. She may need antibiotics. Try as you have said, to get pictures or maybe even better a video clip of her when she is having a bad time.

And like clockwork, she was great for like 4-5 days and now she’s puffed this morning. She flew to perching station and played a bit and went back in cage and sleeping. She’ll do this for a day or two and then bang, back to normal and looking / acting just fine. So weird! One thing, is that she never fails to eat or drink. She may not play and act sleepy for a day or two and stay away from the others, etc.. as I mentioned, but she does keep eating and drinking. She never stops that part. 🤷🤷

Poor little girl she must feel Ill, if there is no possible way you can get her to a vet ,its difficult to know what else to suggest. What do others suggest?

This is a puzzle, poor little bird. Is there a routine that you follow that matches the cycle of all this? A weekly cleaning session, of the cages or the house in general? Introduction of a food item? Something outside the home, perhaps someone spraying in their garden? It's odd that it's so regular but also that it's just one bird suffering, if it's an environmental issue. Does she eat things that the other birds don't like? I'm scratching my head!

Is that a lump on her left side or just the way she has her feathers fluffed up?

Yeah, totally puzzled. Lumpy thing is pic. She hasn’t had any bumps or physical signs of wound or trauma etc.. when she’s done puffing and acting funny, she slicks down and acts like a brand new playful healthy bird. It’s been suggested from a bet (not really specializing in birds) that it may be a behavioral issue or similar. Since she looks and seems ill for a couple days and then gets totally right for around 4-5 days and then repeats the deal. As to routines, good question. I mean they get the same treats fruit veggies seed and a little millet treat here and there. All birds have same meals and perching and flying areas. The other two, are just fine. All cages are cleaned a couple times a week. It doesn’t seem to follow any of that directly tho.. The only thing I can think of pattern it may follow, is that they are having a birdbath. But what’s weird is they get a birdbath each day. But usually every so many days when I know she’s had the bird bath, she puff is the next day. Maybe Somethings to do with that? Another really weird thing, is when she is acting sort of sickly like this, if I stick her out in the direct sunlight for a few minutes she stops puffing and then start singing but when I take her back in the house she puffs up and gets all sickly acting again. Than the very next day or something she will sort of like snap out of it and then it’s totally fine. Never seen a bird do anything like this before

I can't suggest anything useful here, nothing that explains the cycle. Perhaps a metabolic issue, a congenital condition? A reaction to the bathing, perhaps from inhalating moisture? I don't have any confidence in these guesses though. A true puzzle.

If its a habit/behavioral thing, try taking everything out of her cage and completely rearranging things including giving her some new things. Also try giving her some time every day in the sunlight. One of my two boys craves the sun and gets very quiet without it. The other boy doesn't seem to care. Other more experienced people may have more/better ideas.

The head turning behaviour and some of the other symptoms …..could they be neurological? I am just thinking of some of Charlie’s on and off symptoms. Just a thought.
