I often wish I could just get the food I want from a local place, or even PetsAtHome because at least I can go to the store to collect it, rather than from Scarletts. Haven't had an issue with Northern Parrots, although trying to talk to their customer service about the difference between budgie and cockatiel nutriberries was like talking to a brick wall. criswell Doesn't help with the customer service issue, but if you can't get refunded, or even if you can and they don't want you to send it back, you might be able to break the food up with a pestle and mortar or a food processor. You'll get a lot of dust but at least some of it might be useable.

When Ant and I got married, my colleagues in theatre gave us a gift card for John Lewis. We never got around to looking for anything in all the chaos, but the other day Ant spotted a pair of budgie salt and pepper shakers, and thus we have ended up with this haul: The forks and cake slice aren't budgie themed, more cranes and long grass, but they're pretty. Weirdly the larger plates and the bowls in this series didn't have budgies on them...

Thanks Ira. I might give that a go although my pestle and mortar is tiny. I'm also paranoid that if I handle their food too much I'll accidentally contaminate it with something so try not to touch their food at if I can help. I don't know when I got so anxious about stuff like that. I'm not worried about my food and was never this worried about the rodent and rabbit food. Maybe it's because budgies seem so delicate. If I disinfect the pestle and mortar and myself I probably won't worry so much. You would not believe how many times I wash my hands when I'm preparing their greens and water. I love your plates and mugs and the salt and pepper shakers are the sweetest thing ever, and look just like Gwen and Indie when they are preening each other. Will you be using the mugs and plates or are they too lovely for that?

I just walked up to Asda I crossed paths with a man walking his dog in the other direction. On the walk back from Asda I passed the same man at exactly the same place returning from his dog walk. I like it when coincendental things like that happen.
I then popped into Lidl and when the cashier had finished scanning my shopping he chuckled and said "what a number!". My shopping came to £6.66, the number of the beast shopping.

criswell We probably will. But for nice cake and tea, or hot chocolate for the mugs.

Crazy dream last night. I was doing IT support again in an office which featured, amongst others, Sadiq Khan and Fr Calvin Robinson. I wasn't going to be able to help the London Mayor with his issue as he was expected to be "out of the office until 19 August".
I had a great laugh chatting to Robinson while I fixed his computer.
Weird weird weird. Time to take a break from Twitter.

Nuisance thing for the day - shut my laptop last night, took it into the dining room, opened it again and it went crunch and the casing is coming apart at one hinge and it won't open more than 4 inches so I'm having to use my old laptop which will hopefully get me through my lessons on zoom this evening. I could use the bus to take it somewhere for fixing today but it is pouring with rain or I could wait until tomorrow evening and David can drive me. And I've got to decide who to take it to for repairs. What fun

Thanks loz. I've just tested my old laptop on a zoom call and it worked fine so I won't brave the rain today

Just spent 75 minutes on the phone, trying to upgrade my broadband package as the current contract was ending. I've had road traffic accidents that were less painful and more fun.

Thanks loz . I've just tested my old laptop on a zoom call and it worked fine so I won't brave the rain today Hi Criswell - just passing through - you have probably sorted out your laptop, but just in case - I transfer my laptop via a docking station which provides all functions including VGA and ethernet, mouse, keyboard, etc, and to a separate monitor, so everything is easier to use and with a larger monitor; you would also need a camera for Zoom etc. The broken laptop could then survive a long period without being opened at all. The docking station I use is excellent and not especially costly: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08K7KFPFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Probably in my Top Three of everything that has ever been on the Internet. I laugh until I cry every time I watch it.
