That’s a better explanation than the one I read; thanks sweetpea . So they are all good things that work together in the liver. Is it a prescription-only med, do you know? I've seen it being sold online so it can't be prescription only. Pretty sure the vet referred to it as a 'supplement'. I think she is also anticipating it only being used for a few months rather than long-term, & hopefully returning to just the milk thistle in water. Thanks, Hezz .

Yes, I saw that too, after I had already sent my previous post. At least your little budgies are not going to be going through the same amount as a cat or dog. That has to be helpful, price-wise. Is there a dosage made up specifically for birds, or just cat and dogs? Looks like it is yet another thing that we can’t access in Aus.

I mixed it in with seed I give by hand & Perry just picks up a seed, drops it, then turns away. I added more seed to 'dilute' it, but the same result. Lennie won't have it either.

Typical little budgies b*ggers! Anyone would think they knew it was good for them! Sorry, I did have to laugh at your comment, and I can feel your frustration from all the way over here, I’m sure. Is it something you could try in their water?

Is it something you could try in their water? I just tried it in water but it doesn't dissolve - there's all bits floating about. I've been putting some 'normal' turmeric in their water with the milk thistle. It may be too little, or not the right combination, to have any impact, but maybe it will help a bit.

Are there any soft foods they will eat that you could mix it with?

Damn; that’s a nuisance. Good luck with adding the turmeric to the water. I think Lemonora said that her’s may have been put off by the smell of it in the water, maybe that dissipates if left to stand …
