Is there a naturally more bold of these two, and is it the bird who is doing the fly-over? Also, I’m wondering who was the primary care-giver of their previous home and does your partner fit as a replacement person? If there are similarities in any way between him and the previous owner, perhaps the budgie is looking to have that same connection or even missing his male (human) buddy. As it would seem that there is no aggression and if none of the above parameters make sense, I’d put it down to plain curiosity.

Nope no similarities and it seems to have been an isolated incident. My partners been speaking to them more over the past couple of days and they're starting to come round to him more 😃

We’ll put it down to curiosity, then … “who is this strange creature, and can he be taught to fly?? Hmm, apparently not; he even talks funny.”
