I am deeply saddened to share the news that forum member Rose, passed away earlier today.
Some of our older members will remember Rose & her passion for budgies. She had a life-long fascination with budgies, beginning with having an aviary when she was young. In later years, on the forum, she shared the lives of her two ‘sausages’, Ian & Marshall. Here is a guest blog post she did for me on her two boyz:
Guest Post: The legendary Ian and Marshall (not forgetting Eric...)
This photo probably sums her up.
Look at her total focus on the budgie in her hand, like nothing else mattered.
We were fortunate to have her contributions to the forum. I will miss her.
Fly free with all your feathery friends, Rose.

What awful news. Thank you for letting us all know sweetpea. She always had interesting posts to share and seemed like a lovely person. Rose sent me some seeding grasses for my budgies on a couple of occasions and we used to swap Christmas cards. I feel really sad that she has gone. But as you say, I like to think of her being reunited with Ian and Marshall, her beloved Boyz.

Oh, sweetpea, that really has made me sad, as I am sure you are more so, having known her personally. She came across as a gentle and loving soul, and her love for her two boyz, Ian and Marshie, was obvious. I’m sure all three are happy to be together again. Rest In Peace, dear rose.

What a kind soul she sounds. The Christmas cards are amazing! We had her Marshie as the April model in this year’s calendar. So sorry for your loss sweetpea and all others who knew Rose via the forum. I hope she’s at peace now with her birds.

This is really sad news. I thought Rose was lovely. I never met her in person but I wish I had. That's a beautiful photo of her.

I'm so shocked and saddened to read this about Rose. She was such a kind and gentle lady. I remember when she lost one of hers and we were messaging and looking at rescue centres for her to rehome another, she was so upset. I could tell from our messages what a lovely person she was, it just shone out from her words.
Another time she messaged me offering a donation towards an operation for one of mine, I kindly said no as I didn't think it was fair but I was so overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and kindness she showed me at that difficult time. I never forgot it. I feel really sad she has passed. Sleep sweetly Rose 🌹

Indeed clt80 in 2017 rose's budgie Marshall escaped and she was devastated. How kind of her to offer a donation for an operation for one of your birds. She sent me seeding grasses for mine a couple of times, but I had to tell her to stop as I am allergic to grass, my eyes were streaming and itchy I felt so bad telling her not to send any more after she went to all that trouble.
