Hello ^^ Just a little concerned about this cut that I found on one of my budgies' heads. His name is Chedder (Nicknamed Chicken) and he is one out of three budges who are Males. I only just discovered this cut on his head, as I was opening the cage doors. I'm not sure what caused it, whether it was one of my other budgies that pecked him, or got into a fight with him, or if Chedder bumped into something, or scratched his head on something. My other two budgies, Manga and Naruto are not English budgies like Chedder, but they all seem to get on fine with him. Naruto has got to be the bossiest out of them all though, and he likes to take control, but he has never got into any bad fights with Chedder or Manga. Chedder will stick up for himself though when he needs to May I also add that Chedder had his wings clipped before I got him, so he hasn't been able to fly well, resulting in him bumping into things and not being able to land well. He has gotten better at flying though - he is progressing slowly but good. Overall, if anybody could take a look at it and come up with any ideas of what it could be, that would be great thanks! * I also have just put Chedder into a separate cage for the time being, just in case it was one of the others who pecked/ got into a fight with him. x Attachments:

Hi, I don't think that it is anything to worry about. Cuts like that always happens to my male budgies. It will probably take a while to go away but it will eventually just grow out and some pin feathers will probably come in. If it looks like it is getting worse, ask barrieshutt, budgie buddy and all the other staff members. They would know more than me! Hope it helps! Nicola

If the bleeding has stopped by itself, that is the main thing, I feel, and it will heal by itself - it is not a great big thing. Only, if you are suspicious that one or more of the others is giving him a hard time, give them supervised time out together and keep an eye on their behaviour. If you don't see any bullying, try putting him back in the main cage for short periods, but again keep an eye on them. If you don't see anything untoward, I think he has probably taken a tumble recently, and you didn't notice.
