Had this lot arrive in the post the other day from Pine 4 Parrots I dont think I have ever had so much fun! Managed to make what I like to call "the thing" (not patented) but I just couldn't think what else to call it! Murph and Alfie love it already! And it is nice to add something interesting and colourful to the cage for the buds to explore. I have also made an "amuse yourself abacus" where the clips on either end will fit outside of the cage just by threading them through: Hopefully they will like this one too, will put in after they have got used to the first one

It's fun making them, isn't it. Even when they turn out a bit wonky. (Not that yours are wonky, of course)

Thank you! LOL! The wonky the better I think stace! And it is great fun making them, and especially when you get the sense of achievement being given the thumbs up by the feathereds

Usually its the simpler the toys the better isn't it? My Mont would have flown off scared to death of these sorts of toys?! They were out to get her you see

My two have two wooden pegs that I originally used for millet but now they are just on the side of the cage and they play with them all of the time. Bouncing them up and down, lifting them up with their heads and then dropping it back down...hours of amusement.

Funny the things that keep them amused. Who needs heaps of expensive toys? Smudge's favourite trick is to throw the spare perch (I have one that lives on the top of the cage as the little monkeys love to go right to the back of the cage and hide behind the gym when I need to reach them ........ which is just longer than my arm can reach - I am sure they know), anyway Smudge loves to "monster" the perch over to the side of the cage and drop it........... or the other thing she loves is to try to unhook the little swing that Misty and Sparky fight over every night! Smudge hatesswings, so from the top of the cage she jiggles and jerks it about until at least one hook comes off, sometimes two ..... I am sure she does a little fist pump when she manages to get both hooks off and the whole thing crashes to the floor! Sorry Sam, got carried away there! Great toys, of course ...... if they like it and play with it, who cares how it looks - yours look great of course (foot out of mouth, Hezz) I tried something similar to your second one but no-one went anywhere near it. Hope you have better luck.

Wow, some really great ideas! Well, I'm not doing much this afternoon, I'll see what materials I can find to make something with...

Well, here is what I came up with! When I started looking for things to use around the house I realized it was incredibly difficult!! I'm going to buy some leather strips today. I've used string instead for now but I'll change that as soon as the leather strips arrive. I hope it's ok, Spinkey probably won't play with it for a few days anyway until he gets used to it so there's time to change anything that isn't suitable...
