When I replaced Dexter's cage with an identical one he was not convinced but it didn't take long for him to accept it.

Daisy and Billy went in. But Chipper refused to do so, so the other two flew back out again! Ended up having to switch out the lights for husband to pick up budgies and put them in their cage. He got bitten by Daisy and Chipper! Billy is gentle and doesn't bite Did they behave at bedtime?

Silly Chipper. Hopefully after spending a night in the cage he'll be happy to go in tomorrow.

I have to laugh. 🤠I’ve not had a budgie, or other, refuse a cage that’s offered; they look at it for about two minutes and then feel the need to explore. I think it’s a case of self-fulfilling prophesy. Expect them to be nervous and they will be.

I'm afraid they're always like this Hezz! I'm lucky that I got two of them in, it'd normally take 2 weeks and a lot of millet to get them to explore a new thing. They're scardy birds. Not brave like your tough Aussie birds

I uncovered the cages this morning to find Mhoram sitting on one of the external perches! I had counted all the budgies in their cages at bedtime (99% certain) but I spotted the fact I had failed to clip a side door closed. Although how (and why) he slipped out, then down under the cover and then all the way across the length of the cage, in the dark, is a mystery. That's a bad budgie parent.

That's not a bad budgie parent loz Unless the windows were open Silly Mhoram! But I can see how you could have miscounted Windows "open"? What does that mean? There's a paper roll toy in one of the cages - at a quick glance in low light, you could mistake it for Mhoram
