You may remember a few months back, Pebbles had a sore foot and could only stand on one leg. I then noticed the tip of his toe and nail looked a little black. He's using his foot again now, with no problems. However, his toenail is strange. It's very long (double the normal length) and hooked, so it sticks out. And it's growing quite fast. You can see how it sticks out in this photo. Does it simply need cut? I'll probably get the vet to do this, if so. It seems like the toenail is regrowing as if he lost the first one, but it's actually still there.

When the vet trims it, he will be able to tell you if it is something to worry about. Pebbles looks great, except for that one toenail.

I agree, BF. The vet should be able to either give you instructions on cutting it yourself or even maybe removing it altogether, if necessary.

Hi guys, thanks for that. I just got back from the vets. She trimmed the nail right down and said it's nothing to worry about. It will just need cut more often than the others (which never seem to need cut!) and she told me I could just do it myself, and told me how to stop bleeding if it ever happened. Cost £2.20.... cheapest vet bill yet, by far!!
