Thanks criswell. I don't mean this in a bad way but Belle reminds me a teeny bit of a very pretty tank and takes her role of Sorrel's prop/bookend/doorstop very seriously As she tends not to fly apart from exiting the sleep cage in the morning (a huge amount of flapping and not much progress through the air bless her) in addition to his feeding and preening duties Sorrel is also responsible for house hunting. He's a very busy boy It was lovely to be able to help Dave and Bob, they were both way easier to handle than a budgie and continued to visit for a while after their release which was reassuring.

It's great to have you back willowsmum. I'm sure Dave and Bob will be eternally grateful. Well done you. Beautiful photos of the gang, some of which seem to be working overtime on specific duties 😂

Is this in your living room?
They are so lucky to have so many branches to perch on!

I love that photo so much. I have an apple bush out front that is beginning to fruit (yay, no more supermarket apples so for a month or so ). It will need pruning this winter and I have a lots of ideas for what to do with the branches now

Thanks jellybean. It's lovely to see you and lovely to be back too. Thanks Marianne Marlow. It's our workroom, or it used to be before the buds took over! It's the room that they spend the day in and my hubby works in there too. That's the 'mega gym' which is built at one end of the room. The current set-up is about 7 feet tall and built using branches from the garden. It get's redesigned every few months and this time we seem to have ended up with a lot of cross branches for some reason. It helps Belle access the cage though if she wants to pop over for some food or a play on the roof. The cage is open for them to pop in and out as they want during the day although Meadow seems to like sitting in there so it's his cage - obviously! They are 'encouraged' into their smaller 'peep cage' in the evening and relocated to their sleep room, sometimes via the kitchen table just so they have a different view and can check up on the ducks out of the kitchen window. Although they are free in the workroom all day I don't trust them with access to the rest of the house, hopefully there's enough space/things to keep them occupied in the one room. And the smarties tube? Willow's old habit of feeding his foot has never stopped and he particularly likes to do it at the end of branches so the tubes are put on to discourage him. Unfortunately with so many cut branch ends he always manages to find somewhere to do it :-( It's an ingrained behaviour unfortunately and I don't think we'll ever discourage him now.

That sounds like it'll be a lot of fun for your guys loz. I'm sure Chocobo will help with the construction! I can't recommend reusable cable-ties highly enough btw.

That is ... magnificent. If you look up "budgie activity enrichment" in an encyclopaedia, that should be the picture. I really need to put my thinking cap on My only worry is, as things stand, I already have a bit of a merry chase getting errant budgies to go to bed at night. This kind of construction would present next-level challenges

Thanks loz. We were going for a jungle theme We have the space and the materials though so it appeared in its first iteration a few years ago has been a permanent feature since. Bedtimes can be tricky, especially with the high perches but the fresh grass bridges etc get removed each night so there's fewer places for them to hide. I think there are actually 3 buds in the pic but Bramble (green) can be particularly difficult to spot at times

Hezz and Marianne Marlow - Good point; I wasn't aware of the FB Marketplace rule. Maybe she actually was trying to get around it.
