I think Sydney wants to know what the bald patches are.
To me they look like plucking as they are quite uniform. But I am no expert.

Could be any number of things. I would just take him straight to your vet. He's a beautiful bird by the way!

Is she active and eating fine? Do you see any over eating since the feathers started to fall?

And yeah sorry it is about the feathers. So I shall catch him and keep him caged for now and see how it goes . But yeah he eats fine all I can say is he lost a few then I took the quails away which he absolutely love he was always sitting on there backs and alsorts and thats when I noticed the feathers disappearing. And that's he is a handsome fella for sure

I don't suppose it could be something irritating his skin or feathers, like mites? It is all around the abdo area, so I wouldn't think so. Sorry, I am not much help.

This is today's photo I've brought him indoors now for observation and also looks like feathers are growing back but I'm sure he's lost a few more but we'll see how things go Attachments:

Based on where they are (and it's only my inexperienced opinion) he's plucking himself. Maybe he's unhappy that the Quails are gone?

Isn't there something you can get that is a spray on and tastes horrible so they leave their feathers alone?
