As long as Dad didn't get a fright on his wedding night!!! My OH's father had all his teeth pulled because he developed an abscess on one while in the army (WWII). I am sure it wasn't his wish though!

Yep same with my mum mick, i was only small but remember it clearly, she had two sessions, first to remove all the top ones then back another day to remove the bottoms ones. Its almost unheard of today unless you have a major problem. The dentist hangs on to mine with grim death. I had to have 8 sessions on one front tooth, root canal, wait to see if it settled, more root canal wait again, pins, temp crown, impressions then permanent crown, and the family wonder why i have such a phobia about it all. I never EVER go six months without treatment. Hey Ho just my cross i guess

This is a horror story of course, but I did a little cleaning for this old guy, got all his teeth pulled, died from pneumonia less than 3 months later. Actually wasn't that old - around 70-75 I guess, but never came back from having all his teeth out. Too much food going the wrong way!

So even the crappy teeth you have can be better than none at all.

Mind you this whole thread is starting to freak me out a bit! Guess I have been lucky, as the only four I had out (in one go) was my wisdoms and I was a coward and had that done under a general! So am a bit chicken livered when it comes to teeth anyway! ;D

Oh, no you're not Sam. I don't think anyone has wisdoms out any other way! Luckily mine didn't give too much trouble. Bleeding orthodontist keeps on about my son having to have his removed - they are just so OTT those guys. If, and only if, they give him trouble, then we will think about it! One tooth was enough for me - I really must be a squib!

Nah don't think you're a squib at all Hezz, you gotta remember any surgery of any kind is a trauma to the body so it has to do a lot to recover and heal. (That's my excuse anyway ;D )
