Once you've had major work done by a dentist, you never complain about the price of a vet again. Dentist are extortionists. I don't have dental insurance, and there's no dentistry done on public health here in Australia. If you're on a benefit, you may be able to go on a waiting list. I'm not sure about that.

I must admit, I don't pay for my dental work currently. But when I did it was £90 a filling, cost me an arm and a leg!

Well here to pay less you have to be with a practice that is NHS registered, but if you are on benefit and with an NHS dentist you don't have to pay anything. But finding an NHS dentist is REALLY difficult and most of their spaces are already filled. Not good is it really

Wow so more than £200 then, that's amazing! Tell me about it. And I have to sit there listening to them chatting to their assistant about their latest flashy family holiday as the price of getting work done forces me to cancel mine. Makes me want to spit teeth!

Can you take codeine, Mick? Like in Panadol Forte? With my headaches, rapid soluble panadeine is the only over the counter pain relief that does actually relieve. It is the crater left in your mouth that I am concerned about - after the pain goes from the extraction you will have, I actually can't remember now how long it took for the gum to grow over. I think about two months - the worst was when it was nearly closed - grain of rice sized opening still. We eat a lot of rice! Not a lot of fun digging a grain of rice out the gap still to close.
