Hi Everyone,
Very excited. We now have our cage ready for our first budgie to arrive. Should be ready at the end of the month according to the breeder.
Just checking we have everything:
Cage 2' x 1.5' x 1.5' Mixture of perches including natural branches Water dispenser Two food bowl / trays Cuttlefish Iodine block Mirror Toys Newspaper and kitchen towel for the cage floor Bird friendly cleaner
Not got food as will take advice from breeder.
Can anyone think of anything I have missed?

Firstly, welcome to the forum It sounds like you have got it all covered Can I ask if you are getting one budgie or two? Also if you want to bond with the new budgie and tame it I wouldn't put in any mirrors until you have made progress

Hi everyone, just getting the one budgie.
Breeder assures me it will be fairly tame as handled each day, but did not realise a mirror could be a problem. Will swap this for a different toy. Cheers

Yeah, definitely don't put in the mirror until you're bonded better. I made that mistake, because I didn't know any better, and now I don't have the heart to take the mirror away because Munchy enjoys playing with it so much and only that or millet will lure him out of his cage right now and I want to save the millet as a treat.
Plus my nan complains when I take the mirror away because she likes to see him play with it and says I'm being mean >>

Seems very tame considering we only got him yesterday. Sarah the breeder worked wonders with him. So pleased
