Going to the vet; plz advise on what tests to do

Hello.

Our Chica, 3 y.o. has been losing feathers, weight over the month and now is breathing heavily and being lethargic/sleepy. We made an appointment with the vet for today. She has been a not 100% all her life, perked up lately but now is getting worse than ever before and is painfully thin.

I want to check her thouroughly. Please advise what tests I should ask for. It's an exotic animals vet (the best you can do in Bristol), but often we'd do well to ask and gently direct them.

Hi Irina

Good luck at the vet with your little one.

If you want thorough then she'll need Blood tests, poop tests for bacteria and the like.

Also to be weighed, listed to with a stethoscope to check breathing and heart.

Vent, nares, feet, feathers, eyes, inside the mouth looked at.

Check for swelling and lumps around the body.

It's all I can think of and I am no expert.
