Bluey finally lost his fight last night, 31sr March at around 8pm.
He had been going slowly down-hill again but much more quickly since Friday. Unfortunately yesterday I had a number of other commitments which took me out of the house quite a bit but by mid-afternoon I found him on the floor of the little cage, and again a couple of hours later. I took him out of his cage about 7 o'clock and sat with him in my hands until he passed away. Thankfully the ending was rather quick, and now he can join the many budgie friends he never got to meet before. Rest in Peace my little love, you taught me so much.
Bluey died the way he lived his life - with great love and dignity.
We are not Vets, Avian or otherwise. If you have any serious doubts about your budgies' health an appointment with an Avian vet should always be your first point of call.
I am so sorry Hezz. You did a lot for him and he had a good life. Rest in peace little Bluey.
